So I reprimanded the officials and said,“ Why has the house of God been neglected?” Then I gathered them together and stationed them at their posts.

遂斥責民長曰、上帝之室、何遺棄之、因招集利未人、復供厥職、

我聞此、責諸伯曰、上帝之殿何不恪守、遂招徠利未人、使復厥職。

我斥責諸民長曰、天主之殿、何為遺棄、遂招集利未人、使仍供其職、

So I rebuked the officials and asked them,“ Why is the house of God neglected?” Then I called them together and stationed them at their posts.

I gave a warning to the officials. I asked them,“ Why aren’t you taking care of God’s house?” Then I brought the Levites and musicians together. I stationed them in their proper places. I put them back to work.

So I confronted the officials and said,“ Why is the house of God forsaken?” And I gathered them together and set them in their stations.

I immediately confronted the leaders and demanded,“ Why has the Temple of God been neglected?” Then I called all the Levites back again and restored them to their proper duties.

Therefore, I rebuked the officials, asking,“ Why has the house of God been neglected?” I gathered the Levites and singers together and stationed them at their posts.

So I contended with the rulers, and said,“ Why is the house of God forsaken?” And I gathered them together and set them in their place.

Then contended I with the rulers, and said, Why is the house of God forsaken? And I gathered them together, and set them in their place.

Therefore, I rebuked the officials, saying,“ Why has the house of God been neglected?” I gathered the Levites and singers together and stationed them at their posts.

So I registered a complaint with the leaders, asking“ Why is the temple of God neglected?” Then I gathered them and reassigned them to their positions.

For the sons of Israel and the sons of Levi shall bring the contribution of the grain, the new wine, and the oil to the chambers; the utensils of the sanctuary, the priests who are ministering, the gatekeepers, and the singers are there. So we will not neglect the house of our God.

Then I reprimanded the nobles of Judah and said to them,“ What is this evil thing that you are doing, by profaning the Sabbath day?

So I quarreled with them and cursed them, and struck some of them and pulled out their hair, and made them swear by God,“ You shall not give your daughters to their sons, nor take any of their daughters for your sons or for yourselves.

And so the sin of the young men was very great before the Lord, for the men treated the offering of the Lord disrespectfully.

Then I was very angry when I heard their outcry and these words.So I thought it over and contended with the nobles and the leading people, and said to them,“ You are lending at interest, each to his brother!” Therefore, I held a great assembly against them.And I said to them,“ We, according to our ability, have redeemed our Jewish brothers who were sold to the nations; now would you even sell your brothers that they may be sold to us?” Then they were silent and could not find a word to say.So I said,“ The thing which you are doing is not good; should you not walk in the fear of our God because of the taunting of the nations, our enemies?And likewise I, my brothers, and my servants are lending them money and grain. Please, let’s do without this interest.Please, give back to them this very day their fields, their vineyards, their olive groves, and their houses, as well as the hundredth part of the money and of the grain, the new wine, and the oil that you are charging as interest from them.”Then they said,“ We will give it back and will require nothing from them; we will do exactly as you say.” So I called the priests and made them take an oath to act in accordance with this promise.I also shook out the front of my garment and said,“ So may God shake out every person from his house and from his possessions who does not keep this promise; just so may he be shaken out and emptied.” And all the assembly said,“ Amen!” And they praised the Lord. Then the people acted in accordance with this promise.

“ Would anyone rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say,‘ How have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings.You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing Me, the entire nation of you!Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and put Me to the test now in this,” says the Lord of armies,“ if I do not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruit of your ground; nor will the vine in the field prove fruitless to you,” says the Lord of armies.

Those who abandon the Law praise the wicked, But those who keep the Law strive against them.

Because I feared the great multitude And the contempt of families terrified me, And I kept silent and did not go out of doors?
