有关摩押的默示：啊，一夜之间，摩押的亚珥毁灭了，灭亡了！啊，一夜之间，摩押的基珥毁灭了，灭亡了！摩押人上神庙、迪本人上高所去哭泣；摩押人为尼波和米底巴哀号；各人头上光秃，胡须剃尽。在街上，他们束上麻布；在屋顶上、在广场上，人人哀号，流泪哭泣。希实本和以利亚利哀鸣，他们的声音远到雅匝也能听见。因此摩押的士兵大声喊叫，心惊胆战。我的心为摩押哀鸣，它的逃亡者远至琐珥和伊基拉-施利施亚；他们哭泣着上鲁希斜坡，在何罗念的路上因败亡而发出哀声。宁林的水涸竭，青草枯干，嫩草绝迹，青绿之物都没有了。因此，他们把所赚得的和所积蓄的财富，都运过柳树溪。啊！哀声环绕摩押的四境，号啕声远至以基莲，号啕声远至比珥-以琳！迪门的水充满了血，但我还要让更多的灾难临到迪门，让狮子临到摩押的幸存者和那地的余剩之民。

迦巴勒、亚扪和亚玛力人，非利士与提尔的居民；亚述也与他们联合，作罗得子孙的左膀右臂。细拉求你对待他们，如同对待米甸，如同在基顺溪流对待西西拉和耶宾——

你们要查考和阅读耶和华的书卷：这些动物无一缺失，无一没有伴偶，因为耶和华的口已经吩咐了，他的灵招聚了它们。

诵读了律法和先知书以后，会堂主管们派人来对他们说：“各位兄弟，如果有什么鼓励民众的话，就请说吧。”

耶稣来到拿撒勒，就是他长大的地方。在安息日那天，他照自己的习惯进了会堂，站起来要诵读经文。有人就把先知以赛亚的书递给他。他展开书卷，找到一处，那里写道：“主的灵在我身上，因为他膏立我去向贫穷的人传福音，他差派我去宣告：被掳的得释放，瞎眼的得看见，让受欺压的得自由，宣告主所悦纳的禧年。”
