Now the leaders of the people settled in Jerusalem. The rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of every ten of them to live in Jerusalem, the holy city, while the remaining nine were to stay in their own towns.

The leaders of the people made their homes in Jerusalem. The rest of the people cast lots. They did it to choose one person out of every ten of them. That person was chosen to live in the holy city of Jerusalem. The other nine had to stay in their own towns.

Now the leaders of the people lived in Jerusalem. And the rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of ten to live in Jerusalem the holy city, while nine out of ten remained in the other towns.

The leaders of the people were living in Jerusalem, the holy city. A tenth of the people from the other towns of Judah and Benjamin were chosen by sacred lots to live there, too, while the rest stayed where they were.

儘管他們自稱為聖城的人，又依賴着以色列之上帝，萬軍之永恆主耶和華是他的名的。

在聖城的利未人共有二百八十四人。

我們也為供獻木柴的事來拈鬮：祭司、利未人和人民都在一起拈；按照我們父系的家族、年年在指定的日期將木柴奉到我們的上帝的殿，好燒在永恆主我們的上帝的祭壇上，照律法上所寫的。

奮發，奮發哦！錫安哪，穿上你的力量哦！聖城耶路撒冷啊，穿上你華美的衣服哦！因為今後沒受割禮的和不潔淨的不得再進你中間了。

於是魔鬼帶他進了聖城，叫他站在殿簷上：

在耶穌活起來以後，他們從墳墓裏出來，進了聖城，還顯給許多人看見呢。

他們無論大小、都按父系的家屬拈鬮，一門一門分守。

就禱告說：『主啊，你是知道萬人之心的，求你從這兩人中、指明你所揀選的那位，

約書亞就在示羅永恆主面前給他們抓鬮；約書亞在那裏照分配辦法將地分給以色列人。

城又兩面寬闊又大，但其中的人民卻稀少；人的家宅還沒有建立起來。我的上帝使我心裏起意，我便招集了顯貴的人、官長和人民、要登記家譜。我找着頭一次上來的人的家譜；見那上頭寫着說：

因為在那裏立有審判的寶座，大衛家的寶座；

『在你城內若有案件在流血與流血之間、辯訴與辯訴之間、毆打與毆打之間、爭訟的點太離奇、不是你所能判斷的，那麼你就要起來，上永恆主你的上帝所要選擇的地方，去見祭司利未人和當日做審判官的、去查問，他們便會將判斷的話向你宣告。

現在對基比亞我們要這樣行：我們要憑拈鬮上去攻打它。要按以色列眾族派、每百人中取十人、每千人中取一百人，每萬人中取一千人，去為眾民取糧，使他們到達的時候、可以懲辦便雅憫的基比亞，按照他們在以色列中所行的各樣醜事應受的懲罰。』

抽的籤儘可以拋在人懷裏，定其事卻全是由於永恆主。
