“ The rest of the people— priests, Levites, gatekeepers, musicians, temple servants and all who separated themselves from the neighboring peoples for the sake of the Law of God, together with their wives and all their sons and daughters who are able to understand—

The rest of the people gathered together. They included the priests, the Levites and the men who guarded the gates. They included the musicians and temple servants. They also included all the people who separated themselves from the surrounding nations to obey the Law of God. All these men brought their wives with them. And they brought all their sons and daughters who were old enough to understand what was being agreed to.

“ The rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, the temple servants, and all who have separated themselves from the peoples of the lands to the Law of God, their wives, their sons, their daughters, all who have knowledge and understanding,

Then the rest of the people— the priests, Levites, gatekeepers, singers, Temple servants, and all who had separated themselves from the pagan people of the land in order to obey the Law of God, together with their wives, sons, daughters, and all who were old enough to understand—

七月初一，以斯拉祭司将律法书带到听了能明白的男女会众面前。

在上帝面前你不可冒失开口，也不可心急发言；因为上帝在天上，你在地上，所以你的话语要少。

这些事完成以后，众领袖来接近我，说：“以色列百姓、祭司和利未人没有弃绝迦南人、赫人、比利洗人、耶布斯人、亚扪人、摩押人、埃及人和亚摩利人等列邦民族所行可憎的事。因他们为自己和儿子娶了这些外邦女子，以致圣洁的种子和列邦民族混杂，而且领袖和官长在这事上是罪魁。”

但我对你们说过，你们要承受他们的土地；我要把这流奶与蜜之地赐给你们，作为你们的产业。我是耶和华—你们的上帝，是把你们从万民中分别出来的。

其余百姓所捐的有二万达利克金子，二千弥那银子，六十七件祭司的礼服。于是祭司、利未人、门口的守卫、歌唱的、百姓中的一些人、殿役，并以色列众人，都住在自己的城里。到了七月，以色列人住在自己的城里。

现在当向耶和华—你们列祖的上帝认罪，遵行他的旨意，离开这地的百姓和外邦女子。”全会众大声回答说：“好！我们必照着你的话去做。只是百姓众多，又逢大雨的季节，我们没有气力站在外面；这也不是一两天可以办完的事，因我们在这事上犯了大罪。让我们的领袖代表全会众留在那里。我们城镇中凡娶外邦女子的，当按所定的日期，会同本城的长老和审判官前来，直到办完这事，上帝的烈怒转离我们。”惟有亚撒黑的儿子约拿单，特瓦的儿子雅哈谢反对这事，并有米书兰和利未人沙比太支持他们。被掳归回的人就如此做了。以斯拉祭司按着父家指名选派一些族长。十月初一，他们一同坐下来查办这事，到正月初一，才查清所有娶外邦女子的人数。在祭司中查出娶外邦女子的：耶书亚的子孙中，有约萨达的儿子，和他兄弟玛西雅、以利以谢、雅立、基大利，他们承诺要送走他们的妻子。他们因有罪，就献羊群中的一只公绵羊赎罪；

于是祭司、利未人、百姓中的一些人、歌唱的、门口的守卫、殿役，各住在自己的城里；以色列众人都住在自己的城里。

因为上帝是全地的王，你们要用圣诗歌颂！

祭司：耶书亚家耶大雅的子孙九百七十三名；音麦的子孙一千零五十二名；巴施户珥的子孙一千二百四十七名；哈琳的子孙一千零一十七名。利未人：何达威雅的后裔，就是耶书亚和甲篾的子孙七十四名。歌唱的：亚萨的子孙一百二十八名。门口的守卫：沙龙的子孙、亚特的子孙、达们的子孙、亚谷的子孙、哈底大的子孙、朔拜的子孙，共一百三十九名。殿役：西哈的子孙、哈苏巴的子孙、答巴俄的子孙、基绿的子孙、西亚的子孙、巴顿的子孙、利巴拿的子孙、哈迦巴的子孙、亚谷的子孙、哈甲的子孙、萨买的子孙、哈难的子孙、吉德的子孙、迦哈的子孙、利亚雅的子孙、利汛的子孙、尼哥大的子孙、迦散的子孙、乌撒的子孙、巴西亚的子孙、比赛的子孙、押拿的子孙、米乌宁的子孙、尼普心的子孙、巴卜的子孙、哈古巴的子孙、哈忽的子孙、巴洗律的子孙、米希大的子孙、哈沙的子孙、巴柯的子孙、西西拉的子孙、答玛的子孙、尼细亚的子孙、哈提法的子孙。
