Hanani, one of my brothers, came from Judah with some other men, and I questioned them about the Jewish remnant that had survived the exile, and also about Jerusalem.

At that time Hanani came from Judah with some other men. He was one of my brothers. I asked him and the other men about the Jews who were left alive in Judah. They had returned from Babylon. I also asked him about Jerusalem.

我就委任我的弟兄哈拿尼和營樓的宰官哈拿尼雅來管理耶路撒冷；因為哈拿尼雅可信可靠，又敬畏上帝勝過許多人。

耶路撒冷啊，我若忘了你，情願我的右手都忘了感覺哦！我若不懷念着你，若不高舉耶路撒冷超過我喜樂之絕頂，情願我的舌頭都貼住上膛哦！

使那些進去寄居在埃及地那裏的猶大餘剩之民都不得以逃脫或殘存，而返回他們心中所仰慕回去居住的猶大地；他們不得回去，只有一些逃脫的能夠回去罷了。』

如今永恆主我們的上帝恩待我們片時，給我們留些逃脫的餘民，使我們牢固如釘子在他的聖所，好使我們的上帝光照我們的眼目，使我們在受奴轄之中稍得復興。我們是奴隸，然而在受奴轄之中、我們的上帝仍然沒有撇棄我們，反而使我們在波斯王面前受得恩寵，使我們得到復興，能夠建立起我們的上帝的殿，重立起它荒廢之處，使我們在猶大和耶路撒冷有個藩籬。

就在那日、當逃脫的人來到你這裏，使你耳聞這事的時候，正在那日、你就會向逃脫的人開口說話，不再啞巴。你要這樣給他們做個兆頭；他們就知道我乃是永恆主。』

你們要為耶路撒冷求平安興隆。耶路撒冷啊，願愛你的得到平靜安穩。願你的城郭中有平安興隆，願你的宮堡裏有平靜安穩。為了我弟兄和朋友的緣故、我要說：『願平安興隆在你中間。』為了我們的上帝永恆主之殿的緣故、我要為你求福。

那時你們那些逃脫的人必在被擄到列國中懷念着我怎樣為了他們的心和他們的眼而心裏破碎，因為他們的心淫蕩而遠離我，他們的眼淫蕩而追隨着他們的偶像；那時為了他們所行的壞事、為了他們一切可厭惡的事、他們就必討厭自己。

他們中間逃跑的必逃脫，必到山上，像平谷中的鴿子，沉吟哀鳴着，各為自己的罪罰而哀鳴。

我們哪可再違犯你的命令，跟這些行可憎惡之事的族民彼此結親呢？若這樣行，你豈不向我們發怒，直到我們滅盡，以致沒有一個餘剩之民或逃脫的人麼？
