騎卒踴躍、戈矛閃爍、尸相枕藉、骸骨無數、人蹶於上、

騎卒踴躍、刀鎗閃爍、被殺者極多、倒斃者甚眾、屍骸無數、人蹶於上、人蹶於上或作人因屍骸躓蹶而顛仆

Charging cavalry, flashing swords and glittering spears! Many casualties, piles of dead, bodies without number, people stumbling over the corpses—

Horsemen attack! Swords flash! Spears gleam! Many people die. Dead bodies pile up. They can’t even be counted. People trip over them.

Horsemen charging, flashing sword and glittering spear, hosts of slain, heaps of corpses, dead bodies without end— they stumble over the bodies!

See the flashing swords and glittering spears as the charioteers charge past! There are countless casualties, heaps of bodies— so many bodies that people stumble over them.

Horsemen charge with bright sword and glittering spear. There is a multitude of slain, A great number of bodies, Countless corpses— They stumble over the corpses—

The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and[ there is] a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and[ there is] none end of[ their] corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:

The charioteers will charge ahead; their swords will flash and their spears will glimmer! There will be many people slain; there will be piles of the dead, and countless casualties– so many that people will stumble over the corpses.

You, all your troops, and the peoples who are with you will fall on the mountains of Israel. I will give you as food to every kind of predatory bird and to the wild animals.

Sun and moon stand still in their lofty residence, at the flash of your flying arrows, at the brightness of your shining spear.

Their slain will be thrown out, and the stench of their corpses will rise; the mountains will flow with their blood.

Then the angel of the LORD went out and struck down one hundred eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians. When the people got up the next morning, there were all the dead bodies!

He drove the man out and stationed the cherubim and the flaming, whirling sword east of the garden of Eden to guard the way to the tree of life.

Think of Assyria, a cedar in Lebanon, with beautiful branches and shady foliage and of lofty height. Its top was among the clouds.The waters caused it to grow; the underground springs made it tall, directing their rivers all around the place where the tree was planted and sending their channels to all the trees of the field.Therefore the cedar became greater in height than all the trees of the field. Its branches multiplied, and its boughs grew long as it spread them out because of the abundant water.All the birds of the sky nested in its branches, and all the animals of the field gave birth beneath its boughs; all the great nations lived in its shade.It was beautiful in its size, in the length of its limbs, for its roots extended to abundant water.The cedars in God’s garden could not eclipse it; the pine trees couldn’t compare with its branches, nor could the plane trees match its boughs. No tree in the garden of God could compare with it in beauty.I made it beautiful with its many limbs, and all the trees of Eden, which were in God’s garden, envied it.“‘ Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: Since it towered high in stature and set its top among the clouds, and it grew proud on account of its height,I determined to hand it over to a ruler of nations; he would surely deal with it. I banished it because of its wickedness.Foreigners, ruthless men from the nations, cut it down and left it lying. Its limbs fell on the mountains and in every valley; its boughs lay broken in all the earth’s ravines. All the peoples of the earth left its shade and abandoned it.All the birds of the sky nested on its fallen trunk, and all the animals of the field were among its boughs.

The chariots dash madly through the streets; they rush around in the plazas. They look like torches; they dart back and forth like lightning.
