The Lord will restore the splendor of Jacob like the splendor of Israel, though destroyers have laid them waste and have ruined their vines.

Assyria once took everything of value from God’s people. Its army destroyed all their vines. But the Lord will bring back the glory of Jacob’s people. He’ll make Israel glorious again.

For the Lord is restoring the majesty of Jacob as the majesty of Israel, for plunderers have plundered them and ruined their branches.

Even though the destroyer has destroyed Judah, the Lord will restore its honor. Israel’s vine has been stripped of branches, but he will restore its splendor.

『當那日、你必不因你的任何行為、就是你背叛了我而行的、而感到慚愧；因為那時我必從你中間除掉你那耀武揚威的驕傲者，而在我聖山上你必不再昂然高傲。

他們必不再因他們的偶像和可憎之像以及任何罪過、來玷污自己；我卻要拯救他們脫離他們的背道、就是他們藉以犯罪於其中的；我必潔淨他們；這樣、他們就可以做我的子民，我就要做他們的上帝。

你雖被撇棄被厭惡，無人經過，我卻要使你變為永遠的豪華，代代之喜悅。

約瑟是母牛的崽子，在水泉旁的母牛崽子；他的女兒踏步在書珥曠野。弓箭手苦害他，向他射箭，懷恨逼迫他。

有禍呀，亞述，我怒氣的棍子！他是我忿怒之杖、在我手中。我打發他來攻擊不拜上帝之國，吩咐他來擊打我所惱怒的人民，來擄掠擄掠物，來掠劫掠劫物，使他們被踐踏、像街上的泥土一樣。但他呢、卻不這樣思想；他心裏並不這樣打算；他心裏倒想毁滅，剪除不少的國。因為他說：『我的將帥不都是王麼？迦勒挪豈不像迦基米施麼？哈瑪豈不像亞珥拔麼？撒瑪利亞豈不像大馬色麼？我的手既抓到這些偶相之國，就是有雕像勝過耶路撒冷和撒瑪利亞的之雕像的，難道我不能辦耶路撒冷和她的偶像，正如我辦撒瑪利亞和她的偶相麼？』將來主在錫安山和耶路撒冷了結了他一切作為的時候，他必察罰亞述王心裏自大之表現和他眼目高傲之自炫。

割取葡萄的若來到你那裏，是不剩下半粒的；賊若夜間來，是要毁壞到夠了的。

因為你看，在那稱為我名下的城我既開始降了災禍，你們能全然免受刑罰麼？你們必不能免受刑罰，因為我要呼喚刀劍來責罰這地所有的居民：這是萬軍之永恆主發神諭說的。」

以色列是茂盛的葡萄樹、能結果子的；他的果子越多，他的祭壇就越增多；他的地土越肥美，他就越使崇拜柱子美麗。
