但現在的天和地，藉著他的話語得以存留，一直留到不敬神的人受審判和滅亡的日子，被火焚燒。可是，各位蒙愛的人哪，你們不可忽略這一點：在主看來，一日如千年，千年如一日。主沒有像有些人認為的那樣，拖延所應許的；相反，他對你們恆久忍耐，不願任何人滅亡，而願所有人都來悔改。不過，主的日子要來臨，就像賊來臨那樣。在那日，諸天要轟然一聲地消逝，天體將被火焚燒而廢除，地和地上的作為也都將被暴露出來。既然這一切都要如此被廢除，那麼，你們應該做什麼樣的人呢？應該行為聖潔、敬畏神，等候並催促神的日子來臨。因為在那日，諸天將被焚燒而廢除，天體要被火焚燒而熔化。

忽然發生了強烈的地震，主的一位天使從天上降下來，上前把那石頭滾開，坐在上面。

群山跳躍如公羊，岡陵跳躍如羊羔。

列邦喧鬧，列國動搖；神發出聲音，大地就消融。

接著，我看見一個白色的大寶座和坐在它上面的那一位。地和天都從他面前逃避，連它們的地方也找不到了。

耶和華的聲音震斷香柏樹，耶和華震斷黎巴嫩的香柏樹。他使黎巴嫩跳躍如牛犢，使西連跳躍如野牛犢。

因為必有萬軍之耶和華的一個日子，臨到所有傲慢高傲的和所有自高的，使他們成為卑賤；又臨到所有高聳挺拔的黎巴嫩香柏樹和所有巴珊的橡樹，臨到所有的高山和所有的峻嶺，

願海洋和其中所充滿的、世界和其中的居民，都歡呼如雷！

忽然，聖所裡的幔子從上到下裂成兩半。大地震動，岩石裂開。

群山哪，你為什麼跳躍如公羊呢？岡陵啊，你為什麼跳躍如羊羔呢？
