儻爾一目陷爾、則去之、寧一目而進上帝國、勝有二目投於地獄、

倘爾一目使爾陷於罪、則抉之、爾一目入天主國、勝如有兩目而投於磯很拿、

倘爾目陷爾於罪、抉之可也；寧具隻眼而進天主之國、莫使具雙目而被拋于火獄；

And if your eye is causing you to sin, throw it away; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, than, having two eyes, to be thrown into hell,

但是我告訴你們：凡向弟兄動怒的，必須受審判；凡罵弟兄是廢物的，必須受議會的審判；凡罵弟兄是白痴的，必須遭受地獄的火。

如果你一隻手使你跌倒，就把它砍下來；你缺一隻手進入永生，比有兩隻手落到地獄，入那不滅的火裏去還好。

如果你一隻眼使你跌倒，就把它挖出來扔掉。你只有一隻眼進入永生，比有兩隻眼被扔進地獄的火裏還好。」

但是我告訴你們：凡看見婦女就動淫念的，這人心裏已經與她犯姦淫了。若是你的右眼使你跌倒，就把它挖出來，丟掉。寧可失去身體中的一部分，也不讓整個身體被扔進地獄。

只是我先前以為對我是有益的，我現在因基督的緣故而當作是有損的。不但如此，我已把萬事當作是有損的，因我以認識我主基督耶穌為至寶。我為他已經丟棄萬事，看作糞土，為要贏得基督，

你們當日的好意哪裏去了呢？那時若辦得到，你們就是把自己的眼睛挖出來給我，也都情願。這是我可以給你們作證的。

愛父母勝過愛我的，不配作我的門徒；愛兒女勝過愛我的，不配作我的門徒。不背自己的十字架跟從我的，不配作我的門徒。得着性命的，要喪失性命；為我喪失性命的，要得着性命。」

於是女人見那棵樹好作食物，又悅人的眼目，那樹令人喜愛，能使人有智慧，她就摘下果子吃了，又給了與她一起的丈夫，他也吃了。

「無論甚麼人到我這裏來，若不愛我勝過愛自己的父母、妻子、兒女、兄弟、姊妹，甚至自己的性命，就不能作我的門徒。

「我與眼睛立約，怎能凝望少女呢？

求你叫我轉眼不看虛假，使我活在你的道路中。
