They came to Capernaum. When he was in the house, he asked them,“ What were you arguing about on the road?”

Jesus and his disciples came to a house in Capernaum. There he asked them,“ What were you arguing about on the road?”

And they came to Capernaum. And when he was in the house he asked them,“ What were you discussing on the way?”

After they arrived at Capernaum and settled in a house, Jesus asked his disciples,“ What were you discussing out on the road?”

門徒互相議論，他們中間誰最大。耶穌看出他們心中的議論，就領一個小孩子來，叫他站在自己旁邊，對他們說：「凡為我的名接納這小孩子的，就是接納我；凡接納我的，就是接納那差我來的。你們中間最小的，他就是最大的。」

當時，門徒前來問耶穌：「天國裏誰是最大的？」耶穌叫一個小孩子來，讓他站在他們當中，說：「我實在告訴你們，你們若不回轉，變成像小孩子一樣，絕不能進天國。所以，凡自己謙卑像這小孩子的，他在天國裏就是最大的。凡為我的名接納一個像這小孩子的，就是接納我。」

耶和華啊，你已經鑒察我，認識我。我坐下，我起來，你都曉得；你從遠處知道我的意念。我行路，我躺臥，你都細察；你也深知我一切所行的。耶和華啊，我舌頭上的話，你沒有一句不知道的。

耶穌第三次對他說：「約翰的兒子西門，你愛我嗎？」彼得因為耶穌第三次對他說「你愛我嗎」，就憂愁，對耶穌說：「主啊，你無所不知，你知道我愛你。」耶穌說：「你餵養我的羊。

我又要殺死她的兒女，眾教會就知道，我是那察看人肺腑心腸的，我要照你們的行為報應各人。

也用不着誰來證明人是怎樣的，因為他自己認識人的內心。

被造的，沒有一樣在他面前不是顯露的；萬物在他眼前都是赤露敞開的，我們必須向他交賬。

耶穌心中立刻知道他們心裏這樣議論，就說：「你們心裏為甚麼這樣議論呢？

他們到了迦百農，收聖殿稅的人來見彼得，說：「你們的老師不納聖殿稅嗎？」
