從此，耶穌才指示門徒，他必須上耶路撒冷去，受長老、祭司長、文士許多的苦，並且被殺，第三日復活。

「看哪，我們上耶路撒冷去，人子要被交給祭司長和文士。他們要定他死罪，又交給外邦人，將他戲弄，鞭打，釘在十字架上；第三日他要復活。」

耶穌說：「以利亞固然先來復興萬事；經上不是指着人子說，他要受許多的苦被人輕慢呢？

從此，他教訓他們說：「人子必須受許多的苦，被長老、祭司長，和文士棄絕，並且被殺，過三天復活。」

耶穌對他們說：「這就是我從前與你們同在之時所告訴你們的話說：摩西的律法、先知的書，和詩篇上所記的，凡指着我的話都必須應驗。」於是耶穌開他們的心竅，使他們能明白聖經，又對他們說：「照經上所寫的，基督必受害，第三日從死裏復活，

基督這樣受害，又進入他的榮耀，豈不是應當的嗎？」

「你們知道，過兩天是逾越節，人子將要被交給人，釘在十字架上。」

不料，園戶看見他兒子，就彼此說：『這是承受產業的。來吧，我們殺他，佔他的產業！』他們就拿住他，推出葡萄園外，殺了。

耶穌帶着十二個門徒，對他們說：「看哪，我們上耶路撒冷去，先知所寫的一切事都要成就在人子身上。他將要被交給外邦人；他們要戲弄他，凌辱他，吐唾沫在他臉上，並要鞭打他，殺害他；第三日他要復活。」

正如人子來，不是要受人的服事，乃是要服事人，並且要捨命，作多人的贖價。」

他既按着神的定旨先見被交與人，你們就藉着無法之人的手，把他釘在十字架上，殺了。神卻將死的痛苦解釋了，叫他復活，因為他原不能被死拘禁。

沒有人奪我的命去，是我自己捨的。我有權柄捨了，也有權柄取回來。這是我從我父所受的命令。」

摩西在曠野怎樣舉蛇，人子也必照樣被舉起來，

希律和本丟‧彼拉多，外邦人和以色列民，果然在這城裏聚集，要攻打你所膏的聖僕耶穌，成就你手和你意旨所預定必有的事。

「你們要把這些話存在耳中，因為人子將要被交在人手裏。」

耶穌回答說：「你們拆毀這殿，我三日內要再建立起來。」

我們若能忍耐，也必和他一同作王。我們若不認他，他也必不認我們；
