其拜我徒然、以所教者、乃人所命耳、

彼以人所命者為教而訓人、故徒然奉事我也、

既奉世教為寶訓、向我朝拜亦徒然。」

They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.’

Their worship doesn’t mean anything to me. They teach nothing but human rules.’( Isaiah 29:13)

Their worship is a farce, for they teach man made ideas as commands from God.’

The Lord says:“ These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught. (niv)

These rules, which have to do with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on merely human commands and teachings. (niv)

And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. (niv)

I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. (niv)

The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. (niv)

And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.”This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus. Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. (niv)

You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? (niv)

Do not turn away after useless idols. They can do you no good, nor can they rescue you, because they are useless. (niv)

See that you do all I command you; do not add to it or take away from it. (niv)

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (niv)

And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. (niv)
