無論主人在深夜或黎明回家，若發現奴僕警醒等候，奴僕就有福了。

祂獨自鋪展穹蒼，步行在海浪之上。

到了破曉時分，耶和華從雲柱火柱中俯視埃及軍隊，擾亂他們的隊伍。

那時，門徒的船離岸已遠，遇到逆風，船身被波浪撞擊得搖擺不定。

你在水中設立自己樓閣的棟樑。你以雲彩為車駕，乘風飛馳。

「我主啊，請到僕人家洗洗腳，住一夜，明天早上再繼續趕路吧！」他們說：「不，我們要在街上過夜。」

第二天，掃羅把以色列人分成三隊，在黎明時分突襲亞捫人的軍營，把他們殺得大敗，直到中午才收兵。亞捫人的殘兵四散奔逃。

這些人既不是從人的血緣關係生的，也不是從人的情慾或意願生的，而是從上帝生的。

那人說：「天亮了，讓我走吧！」但雅各說：「你不祝福我，我就不讓你走。」

高天之上的耶和華充滿力量，超過咆哮的洪水和怒吼的大海。
