那個人把塋墓中間當做住所；再沒有人能捆住他，就是用鎖鍊也不能；

那人常住在坟茔里，没有人能捆住他，就是用铁链也不能；

其人素居於塚、雖以鏈亦莫能縛之、

其人素居塚、無有能以鐵索繫之者、

其人素居於墓、雖以鐵索繫之、亦徒然、

是人素居墓中、雖鐵索亦不足以繫之、

This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain.

The man lived in the tombs. No one could keep him tied up anymore. Not even a chain could hold him.

He lived among the tombs. And no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain,

This man lived in the burial caves and could no longer be restrained, even with a chain.

He lived in the tombs, and no one was able to restrain him anymore— not even with a chain—

He lived among the tombs; and no one was able to bind him anymore, not even with a chain,

who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no one could bind him, not even with chains,

who had his dwelling in the tombs: and no man could any more bind him, no, not with a chain;

He lived in the tombs. Nobody could bind him any more, not even with chains,

在墳墓間呆着，在祕密處過夜，喫着豬肉，他們器皿中有「不新鮮」之物作的湯；

你必被趕逐離開人類，你的住處必同山野的走獸在一起；你必受迫而喫草如牛，經過七個時期，等到你承認至高者在人國中掌權，他喜歡將國賜給誰，就賜給誰。』立刻地、這神言就應驗到尼布甲尼撒身上了。他即被趕逐離開人類，喫草如牛，其身體被天露滴濕，以致其頭髮長長像鷹毛，其指甲如同鳥爪。

因為耶穌曾囑咐污靈從那人身上出來。原來那污靈曾經多次抓住了他；他是常被看守着，又用鎖鍊和腳鐐捆鎖好的；他竟把所捆鎖的掙斷，被鬼催迫到野地來了。

無論在哪裏，靈一抓住他，就把他摔倒；他便流着口沫，咬着牙齒，枯乾下去。我請過你門徒把靈趕出來，他們卻沒有力量。』耶穌回答他們說：『噯，沒有信心的世代啊，我跟你們在一起要到幾時呢？我容忍你們要到幾時呢？帶他來找我吧。』他們就帶他來找耶穌。一見耶穌，靈立即使他重重地抽瘋；他便仆倒在地上打滾，直流口沫。耶穌問他父親說：『這病在他身上發作了多少時候了？』他說：『從孩童時候；靈就屢次把他扔在火裏水裏要滅他。但是你若能作甚麼，求你援助我們，憐憫我們。』
