Because you did not carry it the first time, the Lord our God broke out against us, because we did not seek him according to the rule.”

There they are in great terror, for God is with the generation of the righteous.

When Jesus had stepped out on land, there met him a man from the city who had demons. For a long time he had worn no clothes, and he had not lived in a house but among the tombs.

Can the prey be taken from the mighty, or the captives of a tyrant be rescued?For thus says the Lord:“ Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken, and the prey of the tyrant be rescued, for I will contend with those who contend with you, and I will save your children.

Then people went out to see what had happened, and they came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid.And those who had seen it told them how the demon-possessed man had been healed.

And those who had seen it described to them what had happened to the demon-possessed man and to the pigs.

And David was afraid of God that day, and he said,“ How can I bring the ark of God home to me?”

for he had often been bound with shackles and chains, but he wrenched the chains apart, and he broke the shackles in pieces. No one had the strength to subdue him.
