You rule the oceans. You subdue their storm tossed waves.

The Lord rules over the floodwaters. The Lord reigns as king forever.

I was there when he set the limits of the seas, so they would not spread beyond their boundaries. And when he marked off the earth’s foundations,

Have you no respect for me? Why don’t you tremble in my presence? I, the Lord, define the ocean’s sandy shoreline as an everlasting boundary that the waters cannot cross. The waves may toss and roar, but they can never pass the boundaries I set.

I said,‘ This far and no farther will you come. Here your proud waves must stop!’

fire and hail, snow and clouds, wind and weather that obey him,

The floods have risen up, O Lord. The floods have roared like thunder; the floods have lifted their pounding waves.But mightier than the violent raging of the seas, mightier than the breakers on the shore— the Lord above is mightier than these!

At your command, the water fled; at the sound of your thunder, it hurried away.Mountains rose and valleys sank to the levels you decreed.Then you set a firm boundary for the seas, so they would never again cover the earth.

For no one is abandoned by the Lord forever.

At his command the oceans dry up, and the rivers disappear. The lush pastures of Bashan and Carmel fade, and the green forests of Lebanon wither.

So the people of Israel walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on each side!
