耶稣见许多人围着他，就吩咐渡到对岸去。

有一天，耶稣和门徒上了船，他对门徒说：“我们渡到湖的对岸去吧。”他们就开了船。

耶稣上了船，门徒跟着他。海里忽然起了猛烈的风暴，以致船几乎被波浪淹没，耶稣却睡着了。门徒去叫醒他，说：“主啊，救命啊，我们快没命啦！”耶稣说：“你们这些小信的人哪，为什么胆怯呢？”于是他起来，斥责风和海，风和海就大大平静了。众人惊讶地说：“这是怎样的一个人？连风和海都听从他。”

他们在海的对岸找到他后，对他说：“拉比，你几时到这里来的？”

耶稣对他们说：“你们的信心在哪里呢？”他们又惧怕又惊讶，彼此说：“这到底是谁？他吩咐风和水，连风和水都听从他。”

耶稣又坐船渡到对岸，有一大群人聚集到他身边；他正在海边。

这些事以后，耶稣渡过加利利海，就是提比哩亚海。

耶稣随即催门徒上船，先渡到对岸，到伯赛大去，等他叫众人散去。

上了船，要过海往迦百农去。天已经黑了，耶稣还没有来到他们那里。

他就离开他们，又上船往海的对岸去了。
