Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable.So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet:“ I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world.” (niv)

He told them,“ The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables (niv)

So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables:“ How can Satan drive out Satan? (niv)

Then he told them many things in parables, saying:“ A farmer went out to sow his seed. (niv)

The disciples came to him and asked,“ Why do you speak to the people in parables?” (niv)

When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, (niv)

Jesus answered,“ My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. (niv)

With many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they could understand.He did not say anything to them without using a parable. But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything. (niv)

As he taught, Jesus said,“ Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted with respect in the marketplaces, (niv)

I will open my mouth with a parable; I will utter hidden things, things from of old— (niv)

I will turn my ear to a proverb; with the harp I will expound my riddle: (niv)
