These are the twelve he appointed: Simon( to whom he gave the name Peter),

So Jesus appointed the 12 disciples. Simon was one of them. Jesus gave him the name Peter.

He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said,“ You are Simon the son of John; you shall be called Cephas”( which is translated Peter).

When they had entered the city, they went up to the upstairs room where they were staying, that is, Peter, John, James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James.

Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew; and James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John;Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, the one who also betrayed Him.

Now I mean this, that each one of you is saying,“ I am with Paul,” or“ I am with Apollos,” or“ I am with Cephas,” or“ I am with Christ.”

Simon, whom He also named Peter, and his brother Andrew; and James and John; and Philip and Bartholomew;and Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot;Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

Do we not have a right to take along a believing wife, even as the rest of the apostles and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?

As He was going along the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen.

Simon Peter, a bond servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:

whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come; all things belong to you,

But on the contrary, seeing that I had been entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been to the circumcised( for He who was at work for Peter in his apostleship to the circumcised was at work for me also to the Gentiles),and recognizing the grace that had been given to me, James and Cephas and John, who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, so that we might go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcised.

Simon Peter answered,“ You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”And Jesus said to him,“ Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.
