經上說：“如果你們今天聽從他的聲音，就不要硬著心，像惹他發怒的時候一樣。”那時，聽了他的話而惹他發怒的是誰呢？不就是摩西從埃及領出來的那些人嗎？四十年之久，神向誰發怒呢？不就是向那些犯了罪陳屍曠野的人嗎？他又向誰起誓說，他們絕對不可以進入他的安息呢？不就是向那些不順從的人嗎？這樣看來，他們不能進入安息，是因為不信的緣故。

凡是我所愛的，我就責備管教；所以你要熱心，也要悔改。

所以，就像聖靈所說的：“如果你們今天聽從他的聲音，就不要硬著心，好像在曠野惹他發怒、試探他的日子一樣；

耶穌知道了，就說：“小信的人，為甚麼議論沒有餅這件事呢？你們還不明白嗎？你們是不是忘記了那五個餅分給五千人，又裝滿了多少個籃子呢？還是忘記了那七個餅分給四千人，又裝滿了多少個大籃子呢？我對你們講的不是餅的事，你們為甚麼不明白？你們要提防法利賽人和撒都該人的酵。”

他說：“因為你們的信心太小了。我實在告訴你們，只要你們的信心像一粒芥菜種，就是對這山說：‘從這裡移到那裡’，它也必移開。沒有甚麼是你們不能作的。”﹙有些抄本有第

耶穌說：“無知的人哪，先知所說的一切話，你們心裡信得太遲鈍了！

耶穌知道了，就說：“為甚麼議論沒有餅這件事呢？你們還不知道，還不明白嗎？你們的心還是這麼遲鈍嗎？你們有眼不能看，有耳不能聽嗎？你們不記得嗎？

耶和華對摩西說：“這民藐視我要到幾時呢？我雖然在他們中間行了這些神蹟，他們還是不信我要到幾時呢？

然後對多馬說：“把你的指頭放在這裡，看看我的手吧！伸出你的手來，探探我的肋旁！不要疑惑，只要信！”
