耶稣又心里悲叹，来到坟墓前；那坟墓是个洞，有一块石头挡着。

‘你在这里做什么呢？有什么人竟在这里凿坟墓，就是在高处为自己凿坟墓，在磐石中为自己凿出安身之所？

彼此说：“谁给我们把石头从墓门滚开呢？”那石头原来很大，她们抬头一看，却见石头已经滚开了。

忽然，地大震动；因为有主的使者从天上下来，把石头滚开，坐在上面。

就取下来，用细麻布裹好，安放在石头凿成的坟墓里；那里头从来没有葬过人。

这些事以后，有亚利马太人约瑟，是耶稣的门徒，只因怕犹太人，就暗暗地作门徒。他来求彼拉多，要把耶稣的身体领去。彼拉多允准，他就把耶稣的身体领去了。又有尼哥底母，就是先前夜里去见耶稣的，带着没药和沉香约有一百斤前来。他们就照犹太人殡葬的规矩，把耶稣的身体用细麻布加上香料裹好了。在耶稣钉十字架的地方有一个园子，园子里有一座新坟墓，是从来没有葬过人的。只因是犹太人的预备日，又因那坟墓近，他们就把耶稣安放在那里。

约瑟取了身体，用干净细麻布裹好，安放在自己的新坟墓里，就是他凿在磐石里的。他又把大石头滚到墓门口，就去了。
