眾人將耶穌從該亞法那裏往衙門內解去，那時天還早。他們自己卻不進衙門，恐怕染了污穢，不能吃逾越節的筵席。彼拉多就出來，到他們那裏，說：「你們告這人是為甚麼事呢？」他們回答說：「這人若不是作惡的，我們就不把他交給你。」彼拉多說：「你們自己帶他去，按着你們的律法審問他吧。」猶太人說：「我們沒有殺人的權柄。」這要應驗耶穌所說自己將要怎樣死的話了。彼拉多又進了衙門，叫耶穌來，對他說：「你是猶太人的王嗎？」耶穌回答說：「這話是你自己說的，還是別人論我對你說的呢？」彼拉多說：「我豈是猶太人呢？你本國的人和祭司長把你交給我。你做了甚麼事呢？」耶穌回答說：「我的國不屬這世界；我的國若屬這世界，我的臣僕必要爭戰，使我不至於被交給猶太人。只是我的國不屬這世界。」彼拉多就對他說：「這樣，你是王嗎？」耶穌回答說：「你說我是王。我為此而生，也為此來到世間，特為給真理作見證。凡屬真理的人就聽我的話。」彼拉多說：「真理是甚麼呢？」說了這話，又出來到猶太人那裏，對他們說：「我查不出他有甚麼罪來。

亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各的神，就是我們列祖的神，已經榮耀了他的僕人耶穌；你們卻把他交付彼拉多。彼拉多定意要釋放他，你們竟在彼拉多面前棄絕了他。

你曾藉着聖靈，託你僕人－我們祖宗大衛的口，說：外邦為甚麼爭鬧？萬民為甚麼謀算虛妄的事？世上的君王一齊起來，臣宰也聚集，要敵擋主，並主的受膏者。希律和本丟‧彼拉多，外邦人和以色列民，果然在這城裏聚集，要攻打你所膏的聖僕耶穌，成就你手和你意旨所預定必有的事。

他將要被交給外邦人；他們要戲弄他，凌辱他，吐唾沫在他臉上，並要鞭打他，殺害他；第三日他要復活。」

「看哪，我們上耶路撒冷去，人子將要被交給祭司長和文士，他們要定他死罪，交給外邦人。他們要戲弄他，吐唾沫在他臉上，鞭打他，殺害他。過了三天，他要復活。」

只是我告訴你們，凡向弟兄動怒的，難免受審判；凡罵弟兄是拉加的，難免公會的審判；凡罵弟兄是魔利的，難免地獄的火。

「看哪，我們上耶路撒冷去，人子要被交給祭司長和文士。他們要定他死罪，又交給外邦人，將他戲弄，鞭打，釘在十字架上；第三日他要復活。」

世上的君王一齊起來，臣宰一同商議，要敵擋耶和華並他的受膏者，

第二天，官府、長老，和文士在耶路撒冷聚會，又有大祭司亞那和該亞法、約翰、亞歷山大，並大祭司的親族都在那裏，
