But again he denied it. And after a little while the bystanders were again saying to Peter,“ You really are one of them, for you are a Galilean as well.”

彼得復不承、頃之、旁立者謂之曰、爾誠其黨、以爾乃加利利人也、

頃之、旁立者語彼得曰、爾誠其黨、爾乃加利利人、方言亦合、

少頃、旁立者語彼得曰、爾誠其黨、蓋爾乃迦利利人、爾之方言亦相似、

伯鐸祿又不承。無何、旁立者又謂之曰：『爾確為彼之同黨、蓋爾亦加利利人耳。』

Again he denied it. After a little while, those standing near said to Peter,“ Surely you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.”

Again he said he was not. After a little while, those standing nearby said to Peter,“ You must be one of them. You are from Galilee.”

But again he denied it. And after a little while the bystanders again said to Peter,“ Certainly you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.”

But Peter denied it again. A little later some of the other bystanders confronted Peter and said,“ You must be one of them, because you are a Galilean.”

But again he denied it. After a little while those standing there said to Peter again,“ You certainly are one of them, since you’re also a Galilean.”

But he denied it again. And a little later those who stood by said to Peter again,“ Surely you are one of them; for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it.”

But he again denied it. And after a little while again they that stood by said to Peter, Of a truth thou art one of them; for thou art a Galilæan.

But again he denied it. After a little while those standing there said to Peter again,“ You certainly are one of them, since you’re also a Galilean!”

And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art[ one] of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth[ thereto].

But he denied it again. A short time later the bystanders again said to Peter,“ You must be one of them, because you are also a Galilean.”

But he again denied it. After a little while again those who stood by said to Peter,“ You truly are one of them, for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it.”

But he denied it, saying,“ I neither know nor understand what you are talking about.” And he went out onto the porch.

And after about an hour had passed, some other man began to insist, saying,“ Certainly this man also was with Him, for he, too, is a Galilean.”But Peter said,“ Man, I do not know what you are talking about!” And immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.

A little later the bystanders came up and said to Peter,“ You really are one of them as well, since even the way you talk gives you away.”Then he began to curse and swear,“ I do not know the man!” And immediately a rooster crowed.

They were amazed and astonished, saying,“ Why, are not all these who are speaking Galileans?

One of the slaves of the high priest, who was related to the one whose ear Peter cut off,* said,“ Did I not see you in the garden with Him?”Peter then denied it again, and immediately a rooster crowed.

then they would say to him,“ Just say,‘ Shibboleth.’ ” But he said,“ Sibboleth,” for he was not prepared to pronounce it correctly. Then they seized him and slaughtered him at the crossing places of the Jordan. So at that time forty two thousand from Ephraim fell.
