有人且從而唾其面、蒙其目、揮拳而擊之曰：『可以預言矣！』諸僕更批其頰。

便吐唾沬在他臉上，用拳頭打他；有人給他一個耳刮子，說：『基督啊，對我們說豫言吧！打你的是誰？』

我將我的背脊給擊打的人擊打，將我的腮頰給拔鬍鬚的人扯拔，我並沒有掩面以躲避羞辱，而免被吐唾沬。

又用一根葦子擊打他的頭，向他吐唾沫，跪下拜他。

大祭司亞拿尼亞吩咐旁邊站着的人擊打他的嘴。

接續地來到他面前說：『猶太人的王，萬歲！』直給他耳刮子。

羈押耶穌的人戲弄他，打他，又蒙着他的眼，問他說：『說豫言吧；打你的是誰？』

耶穌說了這些話，旁邊站着的差役有一個給他一個耳刮子，說：『你這樣回答大祭司麼？』

他們必戲弄他，向他吐唾沫，鞭打他，殺害他；三天以後，他就必復起。』

永恆主對摩西說：『她父親若吐唾沫在她臉上，她不是要蒙羞七天麼？把她關閉在營外七天，然後才可以收她回營。』

轉臉注視着信仰上的開創者和完成者耶穌：他為了那擺在他前頭的喜樂，就堅忍着十字架，輕看羞辱，如今已在上帝的右邊坐着呢。

他被藐視，被絕交，是個多受痛苦、熟知憂患的人，像被人掩面不看的一樣；他被藐視，我們並不算他為甚麼。

王從王宮花園回到酒席大廳；這時哈曼早已伏在以斯帖所靠的榻上；於是王說：『他竟敢在宮內、在我面前污辱王后麼？』這話一出王口，人就把哈曼的臉蒙上。

他們厭惡我，遠避着我；一見面、就向我吐唾沫，毫不檢束。

許多人怎樣因他而驚愕，（因為他的容貌比別人憔悴，他的形體比常人枯槁）

民兵隊小姐啊，現在你聚集成隊哦！仇敵正在圍攻我們呢；他們用棍子擊打以色列執政者的嘴巴。
