如果不是主减少了那些日子，就没有一个人能得救。然而，为了那些蒙拣选的人，就是他所拣选的，他减少了那些日子。

若不是主减少那日子，凡有血气的，总没有一个得救的；只是为主的选民，他将那日子减少了。

若不是主减少那些日子，凡血肉之躯的，就没有一个能得救；但是为了他所拣选的选民，他将那些日子减少了。

如果主不缩短灾期，恐怕没有人能活命，但为了祂所拣选的子民，祂已经缩短灾期。

若主不稍減其日、則無有得救者、惟為所選之民、是日其稍減耳、

若主不稍減其日、則無一人得救、惟天主為其所救之選民、已稍減其日、

主若不減其時日、則血氣之倫、將無遺孑！惟為選民之故、主必減之耳。

“ If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them.

And if the Lord had not cut short the days, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, whom he chose, he shortened the days.

In fact, unless the Lord shortens that time of calamity, not a single person will survive. But for the sake of his chosen ones he has shortened those days.

耶和华如此说：“当新酒在累累葡萄中被发现时，人怎样说：‘不要毁灭它，因为有祝福在其中’，我也要怎样做——为我仆人们的缘故，不把一切都毁灭。我必使后裔从雅各而出，使我众山的继承人从犹大而来；我的选民必拥有那地，我的仆人们必居住在那里。

如果那些日子不被减少，就没有一个人能得救。可是为了那些蒙拣选的人，那些日子将被减少。

就福音而言，他们因你们的缘故，固然是神的敌人；但就拣选而言，他们因祖先的缘故，却是蒙爱的，因为神的恩赐和召唤是不撤回的。正如你们以前不肯信从神而现在却因他们的不信从反而蒙了怜悯；照样，他们如今也不肯信从，为要藉着你们所蒙的怜悯，让他们现在也可以蒙怜悯，因为神把所有的人都圈在不信从之中，是为了要怜悯所有的人。

这地必被再次焚烧，其中还会有十分之一的人存留，就像黄连树和橡树被砍伐，其中还会有树桩存留；圣洁的后裔就是这树桩。”

而且，那些被折下来的树枝如果不再坚持不信，也将被接上，因为神能够把他们重新接上。要知道，如果你从天然的野橄榄树上被砍下来，尚且能违反自然、被接在栽培的橄榄树上，何况那些原生的树枝，难道不更能接在自己的橄榄树上吗？

照样，在现今的时刻也有剩余的少数，就是藉着恩典蒙拣选的人。既然藉着恩典，就不再本于行为了；否则，恩典就不再是恩典了。所以怎么样呢？以色列人并没有获得他们所寻求的，蒙拣选的人却获得了，而其余的人都成了刚硬的，

要不是万军之耶和华给我们留下了一些幸存者，我们早就变得像所多玛、格摩拉那样了！
