Now about the dead rising— have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the account of the burning bush, how God said to him,‘ I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?

What about the dead rising? Haven’t you read in the Book of Moses the story of the burning bush? God said to Moses,‘ I am the God of Abraham. I am the God of Isaac. And I am the God of Jacob.’( Exodus 3:6)

And as for the dead being raised, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the bush, how God spoke to him, saying,‘ I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?

“ But now, as to whether the dead will be raised— haven’t you ever read about this in the writings of Moses, in the story of the burning bush? Long after Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had died, God said to Moses,‘ I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’

I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.The whole land of Canaan, where you now reside as a foreigner, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God.” (niv)

There he set up an altar and called it El Elohe Israel. (niv)

“ Go, assemble the elders of Israel and say to them,‘ The Lord, the God of your fathers— the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob— appeared to me and said: I have watched over you and have seen what has been done to you in Egypt. (niv)

That night the Lord appeared to him and said,“ I am the God of your father Abraham. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bless you and will increase the number of your descendants for the sake of my servant Abraham.” (niv)

Haven’t you read this passage of Scripture:“‘ The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; (niv)

But about the resurrection of the dead— have you not read what God said to you,‘ I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead but of the living.” (niv)

“ After forty years had passed, an angel appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai.When he saw this, he was amazed at the sight. As he went over to get a closer look, he heard the Lord say:‘ I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.’ Moses trembled with fear and did not dare to look. (niv)

“ But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend,I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said,‘ You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you.So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (niv)

If the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had not been with me, you would surely have sent me away empty-handed. But God has seen my hardship and the toil of my hands, and last night he rebuked you.” (niv)

Then Jacob prayed,“ O God of my father Abraham, God of my father Isaac, Lord, you who said to me,‘ Go back to your country and your relatives, and I will make you prosper,’ (niv)

There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up.So Moses thought,“ I will go over and see this strange sight— why the bush does not burn up.”When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush,“ Moses! Moses!” And Moses said,“ Here I am.”“ Do not come any closer,” God said.“ Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”Then he said,“ I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God. (niv)

There above it stood the Lord, and he said:“ I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. (niv)
