耶穌囑咐他們說：“你們要小心，提防法利賽人的酵和希律的酵！”

他們說：“來吧！我們來設計對付耶利米；因為祭司的律法、智慧人的謀略、先知的話都不會斷絕。來吧！我們用舌頭攻擊他，不理會他的一切話。”

那些尋索我命的，設下網羅；那些想要害我的，口說威嚇的話，他們整天思想詭計。

驕傲的人暗中布下陷阱害我，他們在路旁張開繩索作網，設下圈套陷害我。（細拉）

他們終日歪曲我的話，常常設計謀陷害我。他們聚集在一起，埋伏著，窺探我的腳蹤，等候要害我的性命。

法利賽人就去商量，怎樣找耶穌的話柄來陷害他。他們派了自己的門徒和希律黨的人一同去問耶穌：“老師，我們知道你為人誠實，照著真理把神的道教導人，不顧忌任何人，因為你不徇情面。請把你的意見告訴我們，納稅給凱撒，可不可以呢？”耶穌看出他們的惡意，就說：“虛偽的人，為甚麼試探我呢？拿納稅的錢幣給我看看。”他們就拿了一個銀幣給他。耶穌問他們：“這是誰的像，誰的名號？”他們回答：“凱撒的。”他就對他們說：“凱撒的應當歸給凱撒，神的應當歸給神。”他們聽了，十分驚奇，就離開他走了。

他們只用一句話就定了人的罪，又設下網羅來陷害城門口那執行裁判的，用毫無根據的事屈枉義人。

耶穌對他們說：“你們要小心，提防法利賽人和撒都該人的酵。”
