Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God— who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly— and it will be given to him.But let him ask in faith without doubting. For the doubter is like the surging sea, driven and tossed by the wind.

Matthew 7:7-11
“ Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.Who among you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him.

Luke 11:9-13
“ So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead of a fish?Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”

John 16:23-27
“ In that day you will not ask me anything. Truly I tell you, anything you ask the Father in my name, he will give you.Until now you have asked for nothing in my name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.“ I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. A time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures, but I will tell you plainly about the Father. On that day you will ask in my name, and I am not telling you that I will ask the Father on your behalf. For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.

James 5:15-18
The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up; if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.Elijah was a human being as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the land. Then he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the land produced its fruit.

Luke 18:1-8
Now he told them a parable on the need for them to pray always and not give up.“ There was a judge in a certain town who didn’t fear God or respect people. And a widow in that town kept coming to him, saying,‘ Give me justice against my adversary.’“ For a while he was unwilling, but later he said to himself,‘ Even though I don’t fear God or respect people, yet because this widow keeps pestering me, I will give her justice, so that she doesn’t wear me out by her persistent coming.’”Then the Lord said,“ Listen to what the unjust judge says. Will not God grant justice to his elect who cry out to him day and night? Will he delay helping them?I tell you that he will swiftly grant them justice. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
