耶稣进了耶路撒冷，全城都惊动了，说：“这是谁？”众人说：“这是从加利利的拿撒勒来的先知耶稣。”耶稣进了圣殿，赶出圣殿里所有在做买卖的人，推倒兑换银钱之人的桌子和卖鸽子之人的凳子，对他们说：“经上记着：‘我的殿要称为祷告的殿，你们倒使它成为贼窝了。’”在圣殿里有盲人和瘸子到耶稣跟前，他就治好了他们。祭司长和文士看见耶稣所行的奇事，又见小孩子在圣殿里喊着说：“和散那归于大卫之子！”就很生气，对他说：“这些人所喊的，你听到了吗？”耶稣对他们说：“听到了。经上说：‘你藉孩童和吃奶的口发出完全的赞美’，你们没有念过吗？”于是他离开他们，出城到伯大尼去，在那里过夜。

那时，我必用灯巡查耶路撒冷，惩罚那些沉湎在酒渣上的人；他们心里说：‘耶和华必不降福，也不降祸。’

耶稣快到耶路撒冷，看见那城，就为它哀哭，说：“但愿你在这日子知道有关你平安的事，不过这事现在是隐藏的，你的眼睛看不出来。因为日子将到，你的仇敌要筑起土垒包围你，四面困住你，并要消灭你和你里头的儿女，连一块石头也不留在另一块石头上，因为你不知道你蒙眷顾的时候。”耶稣一进圣殿就赶出在里面做买卖的人，

万军之耶和华说：“看哪，我要差遣我的使者在我前面预备道路。你们所寻求的主必忽然来到他的殿；立约的使者，就是你们所仰慕的，看哪，快要来到。”
