耶穌得一小驢、乘之、正如經所載云：「西溫女、莫驚惶！伊人來兮、爾之王！爾王安坐驢駒上！」門徒初猶未識此事之意義、迨耶穌膺榮、始悟經之所載、眾之所行、莫非為彼之故耳。當時凡曾目擊耶穌呼賴柴魯出墓而起之於死中者、咸為作證、眾聞耶穌行此靈蹟、故爭來迎迓。法利塞人因相語曰：『舉世風從、吾其休矣！』

耶穌投宿忠果山中。

行近耶路撒冷、抵白德熱村、忠果山下。耶穌遣二徒曰：『爾往前村、將見一驢繫焉、有𩦺與俱；可釋而牽之俱來。人或有言、第告以主所需、彼必立允。』此亦所以應驗先知之言曰：『睹哉西溫女、爾王來就汝。溫恭騎驢背、有𩦺與之俱。』二徒往、遵命行、牽驢及𩦺至、置己衣其上、耶穌騎焉。眾亦紛紛解衣布道、或折枝撒路導前踵後、同聲呼曰：『賀三納兮、大維裔！奉主名而來兮、堪頌美！賀三納兮、高無極！』耶穌入耶路撒冷、舉城閧動、問斯何人；眾對曰：『斯乃加利利納匝肋人先知耶穌也。』

將近白法基、伯大尼、折向忠果山、遣發二徒曰『爾入前村、將見一小驢繫焉。向無御之者、可解而牽之來、倘有人問爾、釋之何為、則答曰：主所需。』使者往、所遇悉如言、方解驢、主人問曰：『解之何為？』對曰：『主所需。』遂牽至耶穌前、解衣披驢、扶耶穌騎之、隨所至、人以己衣舖道。至忠果山下、群弟子歡忻踴躍、且以已往親睹之聖迹、同聲頌揚天主曰：『奉主名以臨、君王堪丕揚、太平寓天闕、光榮徹上蒼。』眾中有法利塞數人、謂耶穌曰：『夫子、請斥責汝徒。』耶穌應曰：『予實語爾、彼即噤口、石亦鳴矣。』

耶穌坐於忠果山、門人潛謁曰：『請告我事見何時；爾之降臨、及世之終局、有何朕兆？』

遂離而出城、至伯大尼宿焉。

耶穌發二徒曰：『爾入城、見一人持瓶水、迎面至、可從行、

誦聖詩訖、乃往忠果山。

諸徒乃自忠果山返耶路撒冷、山與城相距不遠、約一禮日之程耳。
