Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,

Don’t be like that. Instead, anyone who wants to be important among you must be your servant.

But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant,

But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant,

But it is not so among you. On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you will be your servant,

But it is not this way among you; rather, whoever wants to become prominent among you shall be your servant;

Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant.

But it is not so among you: but whosoever would become great among you, shall be your minister;

But it must not be like that among you. On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,

But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:

But it is not this way among you. Instead whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant,

But it shall not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you shall be your servant.

“ But you are not to be called‘ Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers.And do not call anyone on earth‘ father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah.The greatest among you will be your servant.For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said,“ Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.” (niv)

For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” (niv)

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is— his good, pleasing and perfect will. (niv)

Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law( though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law.To those not having the law I became like one not having the law( though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law.To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings. (niv)

In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,“ God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. (niv)

“ You call me‘ Teacher’ and‘ Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.“ I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfill this passage of Scripture:‘ He who shared my bread has turned against me.’ (niv)

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. (niv)

Jesus said,“ My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.” (niv)
