耶稣说完了这些话，就离开加利利，来到犹太的境内、约旦河的东边。有一大群人跟着他，他就在那里治好了他们。有些法利赛人来试探耶稣说：“无论什么缘故，人休妻都合法吗？”耶稣回答：“那起初造人的，是造男造女，并且说：‘因此，人要离开父母，与妻子结合，二人成为一体。’这经文你们没有念过吗？

耶稣就用许多比喻教导他们。在教导的时候，他对他们说：

耶稣走遍加利利，在各会堂里教导人，宣讲天国的福音，医治百姓各样的疾病。

耶稣又到海边去，众人都到他跟前来，他就教导他们。

耶稣出来，见有一大群的人，就怜悯他们，因为他们如同羊没有牧人一般，于是开始教导他们许多事。

再者，传道者因有智慧，将知识教导众人；他思量，考察，并列举出许多箴言。

他们以背向我，不以面向我；我虽然一再教导他们，他们却不听从，不领受训诲，
