禍哉爾曹瞽而導人者、爾素云、指聖殿而誓、則不足為誓、惟指聖殿之金而誓、則當守之、愚而瞽者、孰為大、金大乎、抑使金成為聖物之聖殿大乎、爾又曰、指祭臺而誓、則不足為誓、惟指祭臺之禮物而誓、則當守之、愚而瞽者、孰為大、禮物大乎、抑使禮物成為聖物之祭臺大乎、故人指祭臺而誓、是指祭臺及凡在臺上之物而誓也、指聖殿而誓、是指聖殿及居其內者而誓也、指天而誓、是指天主之寶座及坐於其上者而誓也、○禍哉爾偽善之經士與法利賽人、因爾以薄荷、茴香、芹菜、十輸其一、但律法之尤重者、即義與仁與信、爾則遺之、此爾所當行者也、而彼亦不可遺、瞽而導人者、蚋則濾之、駝則吞之、○

蓋天主之言、活潑有力、較兩刃之劍尤利、神氣與骨髓、無不剖入、心之意念、無不鑒察、且無一物得隱於鞫我之天主前、皆於其目前皎然顯露、○

司提反言論有智慧、感於聖神、莫能勝之、

蓋法利賽人、及眾猶太人、執古人遺傳、不精盥其手或作不盥手至肘則不食、又自市歸、不洗、亦不食、更有多端、如洗滌杯樽銅器及床、彼受而守之、於是法利賽人及經士問耶穌曰、爾門徒何不遵古人遺傳、手未盥即食乎、耶穌答曰、以賽亞預言指爾偽善者誠是、如所載云、斯民以口敬我、心則遠我、彼以人所命者為教而訓人、故徒然奉事我也、爾曹棄天主之誡、而執人之遺傳、如洗杯樽等物、類此者爾多行之、又謂之曰、爾誠廢天主之誡、為欲守爾之遺傳、摩西曰、敬爾父母、又曰、詈父母者、必治之死、惟爾則曰、人若對父母云、我所當奉爾者、已作歌珥班、譯即已獻天主為禮物、爾遂不許其再奉事父母、是爾曹以所受之遺傳、廢天主道、且爾多行類此之事、
