彼所謂善者、等諸荊棘、彼所謂正者、同於蒺藜、或作彼之最善義者惟如荊棘彼之最正直者但如蒺藜爾中先知所言之日、即爾受罰之日速至、是時眾俱荒亂、

The best of them is like a brier, the most upright worse than a thorn hedge. The day God visits you has come, the day your watchmen sound the alarm. Now is the time of your confusion.

The best of these people are as harmful as thorns. The most honest of them are even worse. God has come to punish you. The time your prophets warned you about has come. Panic has taken hold of you.

Even the best of them is like a brier; the most honest is as dangerous as a hedge of thorns. But your judgment day is coming swiftly now. Your time of punishment is here, a time of confusion.

主——万军之耶和华已经定了日子，要使耶路撒冷饱受恐慌、失败和混乱，城墙被攻破，哭喊声响彻山间。

人子啊，不要怕他们和他们的话，虽然你周围布满荆棘和毒蝎，也不要害怕。他们是一群叛逆的人，你不要怕他们的话，也不要因为他们的脸色而惊慌。

但恶人要像荆棘一样被丢弃，没人用手碰他们，人要拿铁器和长矛把他们收集起来焚毁。”

在惩罚的日子，当灾祸从远方临到你们头上时，你们怎么办？你们能跑到谁那里去求救呢？你们能把财物藏在哪里呢？

主耶和华这样宣告，我要废掉这句俗语，使它从以色列人的口中消失。你要对他们说，‘日子已近，异象都要应验。’在以色列人中必不再有虚假的异象和谄媚的预言。

他们做可憎的事会羞愧吗？不！他们不知廉耻，毫不脸红。因此，他们要与其他人一样灭亡，死在我的惩罚下。这是耶和华说的。

曾经的荆棘之地必长出松树，曾经的蒺藜之地必长出番石榴。这便是永远长存的记号，以宣扬耶和华的名。”

它们毫无价值，荒谬可笑，在报应的时候必被毁灭。

“日月星辰必显出异兆，怒海汹涌、波涛翻腾，令各国惊恐不安。

以色列人受惩罚的日子近了，遭报应的时候到了！这点你们要知道。你们罪恶深重，充满憎恨，以致你们说：“先知是傻瓜，被灵感动的人是疯子。”先知为了上帝做以法莲的守望者，可是他走的路上布满网罗，在他上帝的家里遭人憎恨。

耶和华问我：“阿摩司，你看见什么？”我说：“我看见一篮夏天的果子。”祂说：“我以色列子民的结局到了，我不会再饶恕他们。

你们像纠结的荆棘，又像酩酊大醉的人，要如干秸被火烧尽。

若长出来的尽是荆棘和蒺藜，就毫无价值，它会面临被咒诅的危险，最后必遭焚烧。
