But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will come forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His times of coming forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity.”

“ But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”

The Lord says,“ Bethlehem Ephrathah, you might not be an important town in the nation of Judah. But out of you will come for me a ruler over Israel. His family line goes back to the early years of your nation. It goes all the way back to days of long ago.”

But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.

But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel, whose origins are in the distant past, will come from you on my behalf.

Bethlehem Ephrathah, you are small among the clans of Judah; one will come from you to be ruler over Israel for me. His origin is from antiquity, from ancient times.

“ But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.”

But thou, Beth- lehem Ephrathah, which art little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall one come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.

Bethlehem Ephrathah, you are small among the clans of Judah; One will come from you to be ruler over Israel for Me. His origin is from antiquity, from eternity.

But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah,[ though] thou be little among the thousands of Judah,[ yet] out of thee shall he come forth unto me[ that is] to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth[ have been] from of old, from everlasting.

( 5: 1) As for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, seemingly insignificant among the clans of Judah– from you a king will emerge who will rule over Israel on my behalf, one whose origins are in the distant past.

But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, being small among the clans of Judah, out of you one will come out to me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings out are from of old, from ancient times.

‘ And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah, Are by no means least among the leaders of Judah; For from you will come forth a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.’ ”

Has the Scripture not said that the Christ comes from the descendants of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?”

Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; He is righteous and endowed with salvation, Humble, and mounted on a donkey, Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

For a Child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of armies will accomplish this.

And behold, you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David;and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.”

Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch from his roots will bear fruit.

Before the mountains were born Or You gave birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

Now David was the son of the Ephrathite of Bethlehem in Judah, the man whose name was Jesse, and he had eight sons. And Jesse was old in the days of Saul, advanced in years among men.

This is what the Lord God says:“ I will also take a sprig from the lofty top of the cedar and set it out; I will break off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and I will plant it on a high and lofty mountain.On the high mountain of Israel I will plant it, so that it may bring forth branches and bear fruit, and become a stately cedar. And birds of every kind will nest under it; they will nest in the shade of its branches.All the trees of the field will know that I am the Lord; I bring down the high tree, exalt the low tree, dry up the green tree, and make the dry tree flourish. I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will perform it.”

The scepter will not depart from Judah, Nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, Until Shiloh comes, And to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.

So Rachel died and was buried on the way to Ephrath( that is, Bethlehem).

Now as for me, when I came from Paddan, Rachel died, to my sorrow, in the land of Canaan on the journey, when there was still some distance to go to Ephrath. I buried her there on the way to Ephrath( that is, Bethlehem).”

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying,“ All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.

And all the people who were in the court, and the elders, said,“ We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman who is coming into your home like Rachel and Leah, both of whom built the house of Israel; and may you achieve wealth in Ephrathah and become famous in Bethlehem.

Though Judah prevailed over his brothers, and from him came the leader, yet the birthright belonged to Joseph),

Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah. These were the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.

These were the sons of Caleb. The sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, were Shobal the father of Kiriath jearim,Salma the father of Bethlehem, and Hareph the father of Beth gader.

Now Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,in order to register along with Mary, who was betrothed to him, and was pregnant.While they were there, the time came for her to give birth.And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

“ And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: The first and the last, who was dead, and has come to life, says this:

He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

saying,“ Write on a scroll what you see, and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And after turning I saw seven golden lampstands;and in the middle of the lampstands I saw one like a son of man, clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and wrapped around the chest with a golden sash.His head and His hair were white like white wool, like snow; and His eyes were like a flame of fire.His feet were like burnished bronze when it has been heated to a glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters.In His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength.When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying,“ Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last,and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

So I took the heads of your tribes, wise and informed men, and appointed them as heads over you, commanders of thousands, hundreds, fifties, and tens, and officers for your tribes.

What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life—

Now there was also an inscription above Him,“ THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

“ The Lord created me at the beginning of His way, Before His works of old.From eternity I was established, From the beginning, from the earliest times of the earth.

But today you have rejected your God, who saves you from all your catastrophes and your distresses; yet you have said,‘ No, but put a king over us!’ Now then, present yourselves before the Lord by your tribes and by your groups of thousands.”

And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written:“ KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

Their leader shall be one of them, And their ruler will come out from their midst; And I will bring him near and he shall approach Me; For who would dare to risk his life to approach Me?’ declares the Lord.

In time of old You founded the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands.Even they will perish, but You endure; All of them will wear out like a garment; Like clothing You will change them and they will pass away.But You are the same, And Your years will not come to an end.

and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king will be king for all of them; and they will no longer be two nations, and no longer be divided into two kingdoms.They will no longer defile themselves with their idols, or with their detestable things, or with any of their offenses; but I will rescue them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them. And they will be My people, and I will be their God.“ And My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd; and they will walk in My ordinances, and keep My statutes and follow them.And they will live on the land that I gave to My servant Jacob, in which your fathers lived; and they will live on it, they, and their sons and their sons’ sons, forever; and My servant David will be their leader forever.

Moses chose able men out of all Israel and made them heads over the people, leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens.

He will appoint for himself commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and some to do his plowing and to gather in his harvest, and to make his weapons of war and equipment for his chariots.

And they began to bring charges against Him, saying,“ We found this man misleading our nation and forbidding us to pay taxes to Caesar, and saying that He Himself is Christ, a King.”

“ On that day I will raise up the fallen shelter of David, And wall up its gaps; I will also raise up its ruins And rebuild it as in the days of old;

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, and forever.

but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong,and the insignificant things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are,

For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of dry ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we would look at Him, Nor an appearance that we would take pleasure in Him.

So look, and learn about all the hiding places where he keeps himself hidden, and return to me with certainty, and I will go with you; and if he is in the land, I will search him out among all the thousands of Judah.”

For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses said nothing concerning priests.

Behold, we heard about it in Ephrathah, We found it in the field of Jaar.

Bring also these ten slices of cheese to the commander of their thousand, and look into the well being of your brothers and bring back confirmation from them.

The sons of Salma were Bethlehem and the Netophathites, Atroth beth joab, and half of the Manahathites, the Zorites.

Now it was the day of preparation for the Passover; it was about the sixth hour. And he* said to the Jews,“ Look, your King!”So they shouted,“ Away with Him, away with Him, crucify Him!” Pilate* said to them,“ Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered,“ We have no king except Caesar.”So he then handed Him over to them to be crucified.They took Jesus, therefore, and He went out, carrying His own cross, to the place called the Place of a Skull, which in Hebrew is called, Golgotha.There they crucified Him, and with Him two other men, one on either side, and Jesus in between.Now Pilate also wrote an inscription and put it on the cross. It was written:“ JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”Therefore many of the Jews read this inscription, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, Latin, and in Greek.So the chief priests of the Jews were saying to Pilate,“ Do not write,‘ The King of the Jews’; rather, write that He said,‘ I am King of the Jews.’ ”Pilate answered,“ What I have written, I have written.”

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.He was in the beginning with God.All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.

Furthermore, you shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens.

So I went and hid it by the Euphrates, as the Lord had commanded me.After many days the Lord said to me,“ Arise, go to the Euphrates and take from there the undergarment which I commanded you to hide there.”

“ Then I will appoint over them one shepherd, My servant David, and he will feed them; he will feed them himself and be their shepherd.And I, the Lord, will be their God, and My servant David will be prince among them; I the Lord have spoken.

Then He said to me,“ It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give water to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life, without cost.
