The seers will be ashamed and the diviners disgraced. They will all cover their faces because there is no answer from God.”

Those who see visions will be put to shame. Those who try to figure out what is going to happen will be dishonored. All of them will cover their faces. I will not answer them.”

那日，凡作先知說預言的必因他所論的異象羞愧，不再穿毛衣哄騙人。

使說假話的兆頭失效，使占卜的癲狂，使智慧人退後，使他的知識變為愚拙；

「身上有長大痲瘋災病的，他的衣服要撕裂，也要蓬頭散髮，蒙着上唇，喊叫說：『不潔淨了！不潔淨了！』

掃羅求問耶和華，耶和華卻不藉夢，或烏陵，或先知回答他。

那時，你們必行我僕人所行的，不蒙着嘴唇，也不吃弔喪的食物。

主耶和華說：日子將到，我必命饑荒降在地上。人飢餓非因無餅，乾渴非因無水，乃因不聽耶和華的話。

站起來吧！用你從幼年勞神施行的符咒和你許多的邪術；或者可得益處，或者可得強勝。你籌劃太多，以致疲倦。讓那些觀天象的，看星宿的，在月朔說預言的，都站起來，救你脫離所要臨到你的事。他們要像碎稭被火焚燒，不能救自己脫離火焰之力；這火並非可烤的炭火，也不是可以坐在其前的火。

只可歎息，不可出聲，不可辦理喪事；頭上仍勒裹頭巾，腳上仍穿鞋，不可蒙着嘴唇，也不可吃弔喪的食物。」

掃羅求問神說：「我下去追趕非利士人可以不可以？你將他們交在以色列人手裏不交？」這日神沒有回答他。

從前以色列中，若有人去問神，就說：「我們問先見去吧！」現在稱為「先知」的，從前稱為「先見」。）

列國看見這事就必為自己的勢力慚愧；他們必用手摀口，掩耳不聽。

行法術的在摩西面前站立不住，因為在他們身上和一切埃及人身上都有這瘡。

從前雅尼和佯庇怎樣敵擋摩西，這等人也怎樣敵擋真道。他們的心地壞了，在真道上是可廢棄的。然而他們不能再這樣敵擋；因為他們的愚昧必在眾人面前顯露出來，像那二人一樣。

我們不見我們的標幟，不再有先知；我們內中也沒有人知道這災禍要到幾時呢！

撒母耳對掃羅說：「你為甚麼攪擾我，招我上來呢？」掃羅回答說：「我甚窘急；因為非利士人攻擊我，神也離開我，不再藉先知或夢回答我。因此請你上來，好指示我應當怎樣行。」

行法術的也用邪術要生出虱子來，卻是不能。於是在人身上和牲畜身上都有了虱子。行法術的就對法老說：「這是神的手段。」法老心裏剛硬，不肯聽摩西、亞倫，正如耶和華所說的。

你們若不將夢告訴我，只有一法待你們；因為你們預備了謊言亂語向我說，要等候時勢改變。現在你們要將夢告訴我，因我知道你們能將夢的講解告訴我。」迦勒底人在王面前回答說：「世上沒有人能將王所問的事說出來；因為沒有君王、大臣、掌權的向術士，或用法術的，或迦勒底人問過這樣的事。王所問的事甚難。除了不與世人同居的神明，沒有人在王面前能說出來。」
