Jesus told him,“ Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!”Instantly, the man was healed! He rolled up his sleeping mat and began walking! But this miracle happened on the Sabbath,so the Jewish leaders objected. They said to the man who was cured,“ You can’t work on the Sabbath! The law doesn’t allow you to carry that sleeping mat!”But he replied,“ The man who healed me told me,‘ Pick up your mat and walk.’”“ Who said such a thing as that?” they demanded.The man didn’t know, for Jesus had disappeared into the crowd.But afterward Jesus found him in the Temple and told him,“ Now you are well; so stop sinning, or something even worse may happen to you.”

Is it easier to say to the paralyzed man‘ Your sins are forgiven,’ or‘ Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk’?So I will prove to you that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins.” Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said,“ Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!”And the man jumped up, grabbed his mat, and walked out through the stunned onlookers. They were all amazed and praised God, exclaiming,“ We’ve never seen anything like this before!”

“ Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed— and you know how crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has healed him before your very eyes.

Is it easier to say‘ Your sins are forgiven,’ or‘ Stand up and walk’?So I will prove to you that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins.” Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said,“ Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!”And immediately, as everyone watched, the man jumped up, picked up his mat, and went home praising God.

But Peter said,“ I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!”Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened.He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them.All the people saw him walking and heard him praising God.When they realized he was the lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate, they were absolutely astounded!They all rushed out in amazement to Solomon’s Colonnade, where the man was holding tightly to Peter and John.

And when he comes, he will open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf.The lame will leap like a deer, and those who cannot speak will sing for joy! Springs will gush forth in the wilderness, and streams will water the wasteland.

While they were at Lystra, Paul and Barnabas came upon a man with crippled feet. He had been that way from birth, so he had never walked. He was sittingand listening as Paul preached. Looking straight at him, Paul realized he had faith to be healed.So Paul called to him in a loud voice,“ Stand up!” And the man jumped to his feet and started walking.When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in their local dialect,“ These men are gods in human form!”

Peter said to him,“ Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you! Get up, and roll up your sleeping mat!” And he was healed instantly.

But Jesus replied,“ My Father is always working, and so am I.”So the Jewish leaders tried all the harder to find a way to kill him. For he not only broke the Sabbath, he called God his Father, thereby making himself equal with God.

are we being questioned today because we’ve done a good deed for a crippled man? Do you want to know how he was healed?Let me clearly state to all of you and to all the people of Israel that he was healed by the powerful name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, the man you crucified but whom God raised from the dead.
