For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.For the whole law can be summed up in this one command:“ Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Owe nothing to anyone— except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law.For the commandments say,“ You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not covet.” These— and other such commandments— are summed up in this one commandment:“ Love your neighbor as yourself.”Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law.

Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

O Lord, shouldn’t I hate those who hate you? Shouldn’t I despise those who oppose you?Yes, I hate them with total hatred, for your enemies are my enemies.

As long as you live, you must never promote the welfare and prosperity of the Ammonites or Moabites.

Yes indeed, it is good when you obey the royal law as found in the Scriptures:“ Love your neighbor as yourself.”

The second is equally important:‘ Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”The teacher of religious law replied,“ Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth by saying that there is only one God and no other.And I know it is important to love him with all my heart and all my understanding and all my strength, and to love my neighbor as myself. This is more important than to offer all of the burnt offerings and sacrifices required in the law.”Realizing how much the man understood, Jesus said to him,“ You are not far from the Kingdom of God.” And after that, no one dared to ask him any more questions.

The man answered,“‘ You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And,‘ Love your neighbor as yourself.’”“ Right!” Jesus told him.“ Do this and you will live!”The man wanted to justify his actions, so he asked Jesus,“ And who is my neighbor?”

A second is equally important:‘ Love your neighbor as yourself.’The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

Lord, have mercy on me. Make me well again, so I can pay them back!

After the victory, the Lord instructed Moses,“ Write this down on a scroll as a permanent reminder, and read it aloud to Joshua: I will erase the memory of Amalek from under heaven.”Moses built an altar there and named it Yahweh Nissi( which means“ the Lord is my banner”).He said,“ They have raised their fist against the Lord’s throne, so now the Lord will be at war with Amalek generation after generation.”

“ You have heard that our ancestors were told,‘ You must not murder. If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment.’

“ Never forget what the Amalekites did to you as you came from Egypt.
