那領了五千兩銀子的，帶著另外的五千兩上前來，說：『主啊，你交託給我五千兩銀子，請看，我另外賺了五千兩。』

凡不因我被絆倒的人，就蒙福了。」

對他來說，就算脖子上拴著大磨石，被丟到海裡，也比他使這些卑微人中的一個絆倒更好。

正如經上所記：「看哪，我在錫安放一塊絆腳的石頭，是使人絆倒的磐石；可是信靠他的人將不至於蒙羞。」

我要指示你們該懼怕的是誰：你們當懼怕那殺了身體以後，又有權把人扔進地獄的那一位。是的，我告訴你們：當懼怕這一位。

那時，耶穌對他們說：「今天晚上，你們都將因我被絆倒，因為經上記著：『我將擊打牧人，群羊就被分散。』

「但無論誰使信我的這些卑微人中的一個絆倒，對那人來說，倒不如脖子上被拴上大磨石，沉到深海裡。這世界有禍了，因為有使人絆腳的事；要知道，那些使人絆腳的事必然出現，不過使它出現的人有禍了。

只是他裡面沒有根而不能持久，一旦為這話語受患難或逼迫，他立刻就放棄了。

「於是王吩咐僕人們：『把他的手腳捆起來，丟到外面的黑暗裡去！在那裡將有哀哭和切齒。』

但耶穌轉身對彼得說：「撒旦，退到我後面去！你是我的絆腳石，因為你不是思想神的事，而是思想人的事。」

不要因食物的緣故破壞神的工作。一切固然都是潔淨的，但如果有人因吃東西使人絆腳，這就是惡事了。不在吃肉、喝酒、或其他事上使你的弟兄絆倒，這才是好的。

所以，如果食物使我的弟兄絆倒，我就絕不吃肉直到永遠，免得使我的弟兄絆倒。

弟兄們，如果我仍然傳講割禮，我為什麼還受逼迫呢？如果我這樣做，十字架使人絆腳的地方早就沒有了。
