耶稣离开那地方，来到靠近加利利的海边，就上山坐下。

耶稣又在海边教导人。有一大群人到他那里聚集，他只好上船坐下。船在海里，众人都靠近海，站在岸上。

耶稣上了山，把自己所要的人召来，他们就来到他那里。

耶稣进了屋子，众人又聚集，甚至他连饭也顾不得吃。

当时，有一大群人从加利利、低加坡里、耶路撒冷、犹太、约旦河的东边，来跟从他。

有一大群人到他那里聚集，他只好上船坐下，众人都站在岸上。

有一大群人因为看见他在病人身上所行的神迹，就跟随他。耶稣上了山，和门徒一同坐在那里。

这十二使徒的名字如下：头一个叫西门（又称彼得），还有他弟弟安得烈，西庇太的儿子雅各和雅各的弟弟约翰，腓力和巴多罗买，多马和税吏马太，亚勒腓的儿子雅各，和达太，激进党的西门，还有出卖耶稣的加略人犹大。

耶稣沿着加利利海边行走，看见两兄弟，就是那叫彼得的西门和他弟弟安得烈，正往海里撒网；他们本是打鱼的。耶稣对他们说：“来跟从我，我要叫你们得人如得鱼一样。”他们立刻舍了网，跟从他。耶稣从那里往前走，看见另外两兄弟，就是西庇太的儿子雅各和他弟弟约翰，同他们的父亲西庇太在船上补网，耶稣就呼召他们。他们立刻舍了船，辞别父亲，跟从了耶稣。

到了天亮，他叫门徒来，就从他们中间挑选十二个人，称他们为使徒。这十二个人有西门（耶稣又给他起名叫彼得），还有他弟弟安得烈，又有雅各和约翰，腓力和巴多罗买，马太和多马，亚勒腓的儿子雅各和激进党的西门，雅各的儿子犹大和后来成为出卖者的加略人犹大。
