我實實在在地告訴你們，時候將到，現在就是了，死人要聽見神兒子的聲音，聽見的人就要活了。因為父怎樣自己裏面有生命，也照樣賜給他兒子自己裏面有生命，並且賜給他施行審判的權柄，因為他是人子。你們不要對這事感到驚訝，因為時候將到，凡在墳墓裏的，都要聽見他的聲音，並且要出來：行善的，復活得生命；作惡的，復活被定罪。

睡在地裏塵埃中的必有多人醒過來；其中有得永生的，有受羞辱永遠被憎惡的。

你的死人要復活，我的屍首要起來。睡在塵土裏的啊，要醒起歌唱！你的甘露好像晨曦的甘露，地要交出陰魂。

其實，基督已經從死人中復活，成為睡了之人初熟的果子。

既然我們信耶穌死了，復活了，那些已經在耶穌裏睡了的人，神也必將他們與耶穌一同帶來。

他已吞滅死亡直到永遠。主耶和華必擦乾各人臉上的眼淚，在全地除去他百姓的羞辱；這是耶和華說的。

我如今把一件奧祕的事告訴你們：我們不是都要睡覺，而是都要改變，

他替我們死，讓我們無論醒着、睡着，都與他同活。

然後他跪下來，大聲喊着：「主啊，不要將這罪歸於他們！」說了這話，就長眠了。

我必救贖他們脫離陰間，救贖他們脫離死亡。死亡啊，你的災害在哪裏？陰間哪，你的毀滅在哪裏？憐憫必從我眼前消逝。

因此，在你們中間有好些軟弱的與患病的，長眠了的也不少。
