Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken:“ Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.

Then Peter remembered what Jesus had said.“ The rooster will crow,” Jesus had told him.“ Before it does, you will say three times that you don’t know me.” Peter went outside. He broke down and cried.

Suddenly, Jesus’ words flashed through Peter’s mind:“ Before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me.” And he went away, weeping bitterly.

耶穌說：「我實在告訴你，今夜雞叫以前，你要三次不認我。」

我也知道，住在我裏面的，就是我肉體之中，沒有善。因為立志為善由得我，只是行出來由不得我。我所願意的善，我不去做；我所不願意的惡，我反而去做。如果我去做我不願意做的，就不是我做的，而是住在我裏面的罪做的。

主又說：「西門，西門！撒但要得着你們，好篩你們像篩麥子一樣；但我已經為你祈求，使你不至於失了信心。你回頭以後，要堅固你的弟兄。」彼得對他說：「主啊，我已準備好要同你坐牢，與你同死。」耶穌說：「彼得，我告訴你，今日雞還沒有叫，你要三次說不認得我。」

耶穌回答：「你願意為我捨命嗎？我實實在在地告訴你，雞叫以前，你要三次不認我。」

弟兄們，若有人偶然被過犯所勝，你們屬靈的人就要用溫柔的心把他挽回過來；自己也要留意，免得也被引誘。

主轉過身來看彼得，彼得就想起主對他所說的話：「今日雞叫以前，你要三次不認我。」他就出去痛哭。

使你與人不同的是誰呢？你所有的有哪一個不是領受的呢？若是領受的，為何自誇，彷彿不是領受的呢？

就是為你們這些藉着信、蒙神大能保守的人，能獲得他所預備、到末世要顯現的救恩。

這時，出賣耶穌的猶大看見耶穌已經定了罪，就後悔，把那三十塊銀錢拿回來給祭司長和長老，說：「我出賣了無辜人的血有罪了。」他們說：「那跟我們有甚麼相干？你自己承當吧！」猶大就把那銀錢丟在殿裏，出去吊死了。
