But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him,“ I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!”

耶穌默然不答。大司祭曰：『予指永生之天主、使爾誓而告予、爾為天主之子基督乎？』

But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him,“ I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him,“ I am commanding you in the name of the living God. May he judge you if you don’t tell the truth. Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

But Jesus remained silent. And the high priest said to him,“ I adjure you by the living God, tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.”

But Jesus remained silent. Then the high priest said to him,“ I demand in the name of the living God— tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ, the Son of God.

Simon Peter answered and said,“ You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

‘ If a person sins in hearing the utterance of an oath, and is a witness, whether he has seen or known of the matter— if he does not tell it, he bears guilt.

And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing.

He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.

Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him,“ How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.”

And when the people had come into the woods, there was the honey, dripping; but no one put his hand to his mouth, for the people feared the oath.

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God.Then Jesus answered and said to them,“ Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son,that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.“ Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.

and went again into the Praetorium, and said to Jesus,“ Where are You from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.

But He answered him not one word, so that the governor marveled greatly.

and saying,“ You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”

Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Nathanael answered and said to Him,“ Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”

And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”

So the king said to him,“ How many times shall I make you swear that you tell me nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord?”

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.“ He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

But He kept silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him,“ Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?”

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king,“ O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.

Pilate therefore said to Him,“ Are You a king then?” Jesus answered,“ You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

I and My Father are one.”

Then they said to Him,“ Who are You?” And Jesus said to them,“ Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.

But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him,“ I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!”Jesus said to him,“ It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying,“ He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His blasphemy!What do you think?” They answered and said,“ He is deserving of death.”

Whoever is a partner with a thief hates his own life; He swears to tell the truth, but reveals nothing.

He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said,‘ I am the Son of God.’”

As soon as it was day, the elders of the people, both chief priests and scribes, came together and led Him into their council, saying,“ If You are the Christ, tell us.” But He said to them,“ If I tell you, you will by no means believe.And if I also ask you, you will by no means answer Me or let Me go.Hereafter the Son of Man will sit on the right hand of the power of God.”Then they all said,“ Are You then the Son of God?” So He said to them,“ You rightly say that I am.”And they said,“ What further testimony do we need? For we have heard it ourselves from His own mouth.”

who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;

The place in the Scripture which he read was this:“ He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer is silent, So He opened not His mouth.In His humiliation His justice was taken away, And who will declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth.”So the eunuch answered Philip and said,“ I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?”Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.

Then one of the people said,“ Your father strictly charged the people with an oath, saying,‘ Cursed is the man who eats food this day.’” And the people were faint.

So the king said to him,“ How many times shall I make you swear that you tell me nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord?”

do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world,‘ You are blaspheming,’ because I said,‘ I am the Son of God’?

The Jews answered him,“ We have a law, and according to our law He ought to die, because He made Himself the Son of God.”

but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

“ Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion.”“ I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me,‘ You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.

Those also who seek my life lay snares for me; Those who seek my hurt speak of destruction, And plan deception all the day long.But I, like a deaf man, do not hear; And I am like a mute who does not open his mouth.Thus I am like a man who does not hear, And in whose mouth is no response.

So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying,“ Truly this was the Son of God!”

And the priest shall put her under oath, and say to the woman,“ If no man has lain with you, and if you have not gone astray to uncleanness while under your husband’s authority, be free from this bitter water that brings a curse.But if you have gone astray while under your husband’s authority, and if you have defiled yourself and some man other than your husband has lain with you”—then the priest shall put the woman under the oath of the curse, and he shall say to the woman—“ the Lord make you a curse and an oath among your people, when the Lord makes your thigh rot and your belly swell;

And the men of Israel were distressed that day, for Saul had placed the people under oath, saying,“ Cursed is the man who eats any food until evening, before I have taken vengeance on my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.
