除酵節的第一天，就是宰逾越節羔羊的那一天，門徒對耶穌說：「你要我們到哪裏去預備你吃逾越節的宴席呢？」耶穌就打發兩個門徒，對他們說：「你們進城去，會有人拿着一罐水迎面而來，你們就跟着他。無論他進哪一家，你們就對那家的主人說：『老師問：我的客房在哪裏？我和我的門徒要在那裏吃逾越節的宴席。』他會帶你們看一間擺設齊全、準備妥當的樓上大廳，你們就在那裏為我們預備。」門徒出去，進了城，所看到的正如耶穌所說的。他們就預備了逾越節的宴席。

要把牠留到本月十四日；那日黃昏的時候，以色列全會眾要把羔羊宰了。

門徒遵照耶穌所吩咐的去預備了逾越節的宴席。

他們到了迦百農，收聖殿稅的人來見彼得，說：「你們的老師不納聖殿稅嗎？」彼得說：「納。」他進了屋子，耶穌先對他說：「西門，你的意見如何？世上的君王向誰徵收關稅或丁稅？是向自己的兒子呢？還是向外人呢？」

「正月十四日是向耶和華守的逾越節。這月十五日是節期，要吃無酵餅七日。

「你要守亞筆月，向耶和華－你的神守逾越節，因為在亞筆月，耶和華－你的神在夜間領你出埃及。你當在那裏，耶和華選擇作為他名居所的地方，從羊羣牛羣中，將逾越節的祭牲獻給耶和華－你的神。這祭牲不可和有酵的東西一起吃。因為你曾匆忙離開埃及地，你要吃無酵餅，就是困苦餅七日，好讓你一生的年日記得你從埃及地出來的那一日。在你全境內，七日不可見到酵母。第一日晚上所獻的肉，一點也不可留到早晨。

「正月十四日黃昏的時候，是向耶和華守的逾越節。這月的十五日是向耶和華守的除酵節；你們要吃無酵餅七日。

耶穌回答他：「暫且這樣做吧，因為我們理當這樣履行全部的義。」於是約翰就依了他。

你要吃無酵餅七日，在第七日要向耶和華守節。這七日之內，要吃無酵餅；在你的全境內不可見有酵之物，也不可見酵母。當那日，你要告訴你的兒子說：『這樣做是因為耶和華在我出埃及的時候為我所做的事。』
