“ Then they also will answer Him, saying,‘ Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’

Then shall they also answer, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

“ Then they too will answer,‘ Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or without clothes, or sick, or in prison, and not help You?’

Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

“ Then they will also answer, saying,‘ Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn’t help you?’

掃羅答道：「我的確服從了耶和華的命令，照著耶和華的吩咐做了。我把亞瑪力王亞甲帶了回來，殺盡了其餘的亞瑪力人。士兵們卻從本該毀滅的戰利品中取了上好的牛羊，準備在吉甲奉獻給你的上帝耶和華。」

你們說的話使耶和華厭煩，然而，你們還說：「我們在何事上令祂厭煩呢？」因為你們說：「耶和華將所有作惡者視為好人，並且喜悅他們」，還說：「公義的上帝在哪裡？」

耶和華說：「你們出言譭謗我，還問，『我們怎麼譭謗你了？』

萬軍之耶和華對祭司說：「兒子應當尊敬父親，僕人應當敬畏主人。我是你們的父親，但你們對我的尊敬在哪裡呢？我是你們的主人，但你們對我的敬畏在哪裡呢？你們藐視我的名，卻狡辯說，『我們在何事上藐視過你的名呢？』

撒母耳到了掃羅那裡後，掃羅說：「願耶和華賜福給你，我已經遵守了耶和華的命令。」撒母耳說：「那麼，我現在聽見的牛羊叫聲是從哪裡來的？」掃羅答道：「這是眾人從亞瑪力人那裡帶回來的，他們留下了這些上好的牛羊要獻給你的上帝耶和華，我們毀滅了其餘的一切。」

律法教師想證明自己有理，就問：「那麼，誰是我的鄰居呢？」

「你怎能說，『我沒有玷污自己，也沒有隨從巴力』？看看你在山谷中幹的勾當，想想你的所作所為。你是一隻發情的母駱駝，煩躁不安，跑來跑去。

「得到一千銀幣的奴僕也上前說，『主人，我知道你為人苛刻，沒有播種的地方也要收割，沒有撒種的地方也要收穫。我很害怕，就去把你的錢藏在地裡。請看，這是你的錢。』「主人說，『你這又可惡又懶惰的奴僕！既然你知道我沒有播種的地方也要收割，沒有撒種的地方也要收穫，就應該把錢存入錢莊，等我回來時，可以連本帶利還給我。』

你們還說，『我們是無辜的，耶和華不再向我們發怒。』看啊，我必審判你們，因為你們拒不認罪。

在審判那天，很多人會對我說，『主啊，主啊，我們不是奉你的名傳道，奉你的名趕鬼，奉你的名行了許多神蹟嗎？』
