挪亚的日子怎样，人子的日子也要怎样。那时候的人又吃又喝，又娶又嫁，到挪亚进方舟的那日，洪水就来，把他们全都灭了。又好像罗得的日子；人又吃又喝，又买又卖，又耕种又盖造。

行事为人要端正，好像行在白昼。不可荒宴醉酒；不可好色邪荡；不可争竞嫉妒。总要披戴主耶稣基督，不要为肉体安排，去放纵私欲。

众人一口同音地推辞。头一个说：‘我买了一块地，必须去看看。请你准我辞了。’又有一个说：‘我买了五对牛，要去试一试。请你准我辞了。’又有一个说：‘我才娶了妻，所以不能去。’

“你们要谨慎，恐怕因贪食、醉酒，并今生的思虑累住你们的心，那日子就如同网罗忽然临到你们；

神的儿子们看见人的女子美貌，就随意挑选，娶来为妻。

亚比该到拿八那里，见他在家里设摆筵席，如同王的筵席；拿八快乐大醉。亚比该无论大小事都没有告诉他，就等到次日早晨。到了早晨，拿八醒了酒，他的妻将这些事都告诉他，他就魂不附体，身僵如石头一般。过了十天，耶和华击打拿八，他就死了。

那仆人若心里说：‘我的主人必来得迟’，就动手打仆人和使女，并且吃喝醉酒；

看哪，你妹妹所多玛的罪孽是这样：她和她的众女都心骄气傲，粮食饱足，大享安逸，并没有扶助困苦和穷乏人的手。她们狂傲，在我面前行可憎的事，我看见便将她们除掉。

当复活的时候，人也不娶也不嫁，乃像天上的使者一样。

然后要对我的灵魂说：灵魂哪，你有许多财物积存，可作多年的费用，只管安安逸逸地吃喝快乐吧！’

当那日，主万军之耶和华叫人哭泣哀号，头上光秃，身披麻布。谁知，人倒欢喜快乐，宰牛杀羊，吃肉喝酒，说：“我们吃喝吧！因为明天要死了。”万军之耶和华亲自默示我说：“这罪孽直到你们死，断不得赦免！这是主万军之耶和华说的。”

挪亚就同他的妻和儿子儿妇都进入方舟，躲避洪水。

你们以为降祸的日子还远，坐在位上尽行强暴。你们躺卧在象牙床上，舒身在榻上，吃群中的羊羔，棚里的牛犊；弹琴鼓瑟唱消闲的歌曲，为自己制造乐器，如同大卫所造的；以大碗喝酒，用上等的油抹身，却不为约瑟的苦难担忧。

弟兄们，我对你们说：时候减少了。从此以后，那有妻子的，要像没有妻子；哀哭的，要像不哀哭；快乐的，要像不快乐；置买的，要像无有所得；用世物的，要像不用世物，因为这世界的样子将要过去了。

那人领大卫下去，见他们散在地上，吃喝跳舞，因为从非利士地和犹大地所掳来的财物甚多。大卫从黎明直到次日晚上，击杀他们，除了四百骑骆驼的少年人之外，没有一个逃脱的。
