Last of all, the woman died too.At the resurrection whose wife will she be, since the seven were married to her?”Jesus replied,“ Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God?When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.Now about the dead rising— have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the account of the burning bush, how God said to him,‘ I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!”

Then Paul, knowing that some of them were Sadducees and the others Pharisees, called out in the Sanhedrin,“ My brothers, I am a Pharisee, descended from Pharisees. I stand on trial because of the hope of the resurrection of the dead.”When he said this, a dispute broke out between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided.( The Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, and that there are neither angels nor spirits, but the Pharisees believe all these things.)

They are God’s children, since they are children of the resurrection.But in the account of the burning bush, even Moses showed that the dead rise, for he calls the Lord‘ the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.”Some of the teachers of the law responded,“ Well said, teacher!”And no one dared to ask him any more questions.

But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.

who have departed from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some.

“ Be careful,” Jesus said to them.“ Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
