Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King comes to you! He is righteous, and having salvation; lowly, and riding on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem; and the battle bow will be cut off; and he will speak peace to the nations: and his dominion will be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.

Behold, Yahweh has proclaimed to the end of the earth,“ Say to the daughter of Zion,‘ Behold, your salvation comes! Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him!’”

The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs. To him will the obedience of the peoples be.

Sing, daughter of Zion! Shout, Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, daughter of Jerusalem.Yahweh has taken away your judgments. He has thrown out your enemy. The King of Israel, Yahweh, is among you. You will not be afraid of evil any more.

“‘“ My servant David will be king over them. They all will have one shepherd. They will also walk in my ordinances, and observe my statutes, and do them.

“ In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, nor will its sovereignty be left to another people; but it will break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it will stand forever.Because you saw that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God has made known to the king what will happen hereafter. The dream is certain, and its interpretation sure.”

doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself;each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus,

For a child is born to us. A son is given to us; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on David’s throne, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of Yahweh of Armies will perform this.

But I will have mercy on the house of Judah, and will save them by Yahweh their God, and will not save them by bow, sword, battle, horses, or horsemen.”

I, Yahweh, will be their God, and my servant David prince among them. I, Yahweh, have spoken it.

“ Behold, the days come,” says Yahweh,“ that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and he will reign as king and deal wisely, and will execute justice and righteousness in the land.In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely. This is his name by which he will be called: Yahweh our righteousness.

Cry aloud and shout, you inhabitant of Zion; for the Holy One of Israel is great among you!”

You who tell good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who tell good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with strength! Lift it up! Don’t be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah,“ Behold, your God!”

God, give the king your justice; your righteousness to the royal son.He will judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice.The mountains shall bring prosperity to the people. The hills bring the fruit of righteousness.He will judge the poor of the people. He will save the children of the needy, and will break the oppressor in pieces.They shall fear you while the sun endures; and as long as the moon, throughout all generations.He will come down like rain on the mown grass, as showers that water the earth.In his days, the righteous shall flourish, and abundance of peace, until the moon is no more.He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, from the River to the ends of the earth.Those who dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him. His enemies shall lick the dust.The kings of Tarshish and of the islands will bring tribute. The kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.Yes, all kings shall fall down before him. All nations shall serve him.For he will deliver the needy when he cries; the poor, who has no helper.He will have pity on the poor and needy. He will save the souls of the needy.He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence. Their blood will be precious in his sight.They shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba. Men shall pray for him continually. They shall bless him all day long.Abundance of grain shall be throughout the land. Its fruit sways like Lebanon. Let it flourish, thriving like the grass of the field.His name endures forever. His name continues as long as the sun. Men shall be blessed by him. All nations will call him blessed.Praise be to Yahweh God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds.Blessed be his glorious name forever! Let the whole earth be filled with his glory! Amen and amen.This ends the prayers by David, the son of Jesse.

But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, being small among the clans of Judah, out of you one will come out to me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings out are from of old, from ancient times.

“ Speak, you who ride on white donkeys, you who sit on rich carpets, and you who walk by the way.

that I may show all of your praise. I will rejoice in your salvation in the gates of the daughter of Zion.

and speak to him, saying,‘ Yahweh of Armies says,“ Behold, the man whose name is the Branch: and he shall grow up out of his place; and he shall build Yahweh’s temple;even he shall build Yahweh’s temple; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule on his throne; and he shall be a priest on his throne; and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

“ Where is he who is born King of the Jews? For we saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him.”

My heart overflows with a noble theme. I recite my verses for the king. My tongue is like the pen of a skillful writer.You are the most excellent of the sons of men. Grace has anointed your lips, therefore God has blessed you forever.Strap your sword on your thigh, mighty one: your splendor and your majesty.In your majesty ride on victoriously on behalf of truth, humility, and righteousness. Let your right hand display awesome deeds.Your arrows are sharp. The nations fall under you, with arrows in the heart of the king’s enemies.Your throne, God, is forever and ever. A scepter of equity is the scepter of your kingdom.You have loved righteousness, and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.All your garments smell like myrrh, aloes, and cassia. Out of ivory palaces stringed instruments have made you glad.Kings’ daughters are among your honorable women. At your right hand the queen stands in gold of Ophir.Listen, daughter, consider, and turn your ear. Forget your own people, and also your father’s house.So the king will desire your beauty, honor him, for he is your lord.The daughter of Tyre comes with a gift. The rich among the people entreat your favor.The princess inside is all glorious. Her clothing is interwoven with gold.She shall be led to the king in embroidered work. The virgins, her companions who follow her, shall be brought to you.With gladness and rejoicing they shall be led. They shall enter into the king’s palace.Your sons will take the place of your fathers. You shall make them princes in all the earth.I will make your name to be remembered in all generations. Therefore the peoples shall give you thanks forever and ever.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.

“ Yet I have set my King on my holy hill of Zion.”I will tell of the decree: Yahweh said to me,“ You are my son. Today I have become your father.Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”Now therefore be wise, you kings. Be instructed, you judges of the earth.Serve Yahweh with fear, and rejoice with trembling.Give sincere homage to the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish on the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.

“ It will happen in that day”, says Yahweh,“ that I will cut off your horses out from among you, and will destroy your chariots.I will cut off the cities of your land, and will tear down all your strongholds.

The king said to Ziba,“ What do you mean by these?” Ziba said,“ The donkeys are for the king’s household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that those who are faint in the wilderness may drink.”

‘ You Bethlehem, land of Judah, are in no way least among the princes of Judah: for out of you shall come a governor, who shall shepherd my people, Israel.’”

The king said to them,“ Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride on my own mule, and bring him down to Gihon.

Out of Jacob shall one have dominion, and shall destroy the remnant from the city.”

Only he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he may multiply horses; because Yahweh has said to you,“ You shall not go back that way again.”

“ I saw in the night visions, and behold, there came with the clouds of the sky one like a son of man, and he came even to the ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.Dominion was given him, and glory, and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations, and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which will not pass away, and his kingdom that which will not be destroyed.

He will not strive, nor shout; neither will anyone hear his voice in the streets.He won’t break a bruised reed. He won’t quench a smoking flax, until he leads justice to victory.

He had forty sons and thirty sons’ sons who rode on seventy donkey colts. He judged Israel eight years.

Yahweh says to my Lord,“ Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool for your feet.”Yahweh will send out the rod of your strength out of Zion. Rule among your enemies.Your people offer themselves willingly in the day of your power, in holy array. Out of the womb of the morning, you have the dew of your youth.Yahweh has sworn, and will not change his mind:“ You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.”

They went away, and found a young donkey tied at the door outside in the open street, and they untied him.Some of those who stood there asked them,“ What are you doing, untying the young donkey?”They said to them just as Jesus had said, and they let them go.They brought the young donkey to Jesus, and threw their garments on it, and Jesus sat on it.Many spread their garments on the way, and others were cutting down branches from the trees, and spreading them on the road.Those who went in front, and those who followed, cried out,“ Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is coming in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”Jesus entered into the temple in Jerusalem. When he had looked around at everything, it being now evening, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.

Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen. He had one thousand four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he kept in the chariot cities and with the king at Jerusalem.

Nathanael answered him,“ Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are King of Israel!”

They cried out,“ Away with him! Away with him! Crucify him!” Pilate said to them,“ Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered,“ We have no king but Caesar!”So then he delivered him to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus and led him away.He went out, bearing his cross, to the place called“ The Place of a Skull”, which is called in Hebrew,“ Golgotha”,where they crucified him, and with him two others, on either side one, and Jesus in the middle.Pilate wrote a title also, and put it on the cross. There was written,“ JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”Therefore many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, and in Greek.The chief priests of the Jews therefore said to Pilate,“ Don’t write,‘ The King of the Jews,’ but,‘ he said,“ I am King of the Jews.”’”Pilate answered,“ What I have written, I have written.”

Now I Paul, myself, entreat you by the humility and gentleness of Christ, I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you.
