人若不常在我裏面，就像枝子被丟在外面，枯乾了，人撿起來，扔進火裏燒了。

他們宣稱認識神，卻在行為上否認他；他們是可憎惡的，是悖逆的，不配做任何好事。

耶穌就對樹說：「從今以後，永沒有人吃你的果子。」他的門徒都聽到了。

不義的，讓他仍舊不義；污穢的，讓他仍舊污穢；為義的，讓他仍舊為義；聖潔的，讓他仍舊聖潔。」

於是，耶穌用比喻說：「有一個人在葡萄園裏栽了一棵無花果樹。他前來在樹上找果子，卻找不到，就對園丁說：『看哪，我這三年來到這棵無花果樹前找果子，竟找不到。把它砍了吧，何必白佔土地呢？』園丁回答：『主啊，今年且留着，等我在樹周圍掘開土，加上肥料，以後若結果子便罷，不然再把它砍了。』」

現在斧子已經放在樹根上，凡不結好果子的樹就砍下來，丟在火裏。」

我為我葡萄園所做的之外，還有甚麼可做的呢？我指望它結葡萄，怎麼倒結了野葡萄呢？現在我告訴你們，我要向我的葡萄園怎麼做。我必撤去籬笆，使它被燒燬；拆毀圍牆，使它被踐踏。

這樣的人是你們愛筵上的污點；他們無所懼怕地同你們宴樂，彷彿牧人只顧餵飽自己。他們是無雨的浮雲，被風飄蕩；是秋天沒有果子的樹，死而又死，連根被拔出來；

就如一塊田地吸收過屢次下的雨水，生長蔬菜，合乎耕種的人用，就從神得福。這塊田地若長荊棘和蒺藜，必被廢棄，近於詛咒，結局就是焚燒。

凡屬我不結果子的枝子，他就剪掉；凡結果子的，他就修剪乾淨，使枝子結果子更多。

倘若他們因認識我們的主和救主耶穌基督而得以脫離世上的污穢，後來又被污穢纏住，被制伏，他們末後的景況就比先前更不好了。他們知道義路，竟背棄了傳授給他們那神聖的誡命，倒不如不知道為妙。俗語說得好，這話正印證在他們身上了：「狗轉過來吃自己所吐的；」又說：「豬洗淨了，又回到爛泥裏打滾。」

有敬虔的外貌，卻背棄了敬虔的實質，這等人你要避開。

說：「但願你在這日子知道有關你平安的事，不過這事現在是隱藏的，你的眼睛看不出來。因為日子將到，你的仇敵要築起土壘包圍你，四面困住你，並要消滅你和你裏頭的兒女，連一塊石頭也不留在另一塊石頭上，因為你不知道你蒙眷顧的時候。」
