The crowd demanded that they keep quiet, but they cried out all the more,“ Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

眾斥之、使緘默、瞽者愈呼曰、主、大衛之裔、矜恤我、

眾斥勿喧、而二人愈益揚聲呼曰：『主、大維子、其垂憐焉。』

The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder,“ Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

The crowd commanded them to stop. They told them to be quiet. But the two men shouted even louder,“ Lord! Son of David! Have mercy on us!”

The crowd rebuked them, telling them to be silent, but they cried out all the more,“ Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

“ Be quiet!” the crowd yelled at them. But they only shouted louder,“ Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

But the crowd sternly warned them to be quiet; yet they cried out all the more,“ Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

Then the multitude warned them that they should be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying,“ Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!”

And the multitude rebuked them, that they should hold their peace: but they cried out the more, saying, Lord, have mercy on us, thou son of David.

The crowd scolded them to get them to be quiet. But they shouted even more loudly,“ Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them.

Now he told them a parable on the need for them to pray always and not give up.“ There was a judge in a certain town who didn’t fear God or respect people.And a widow in that town kept coming to him, saying,‘ Give me justice against my adversary.’“ For a while he was unwilling, but later he said to himself,‘ Even though I don’t fear God or respect people,yet because this widow keeps pestering me, I will give her justice, so that she doesn’t wear me out by her persistent coming.’”Then the Lord said,“ Listen to what the unjust judge says.Will not God grant justice to his elect who cry out to him day and night? Will he delay helping them?I tell you that he will swiftly grant them justice. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

Devote yourselves to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving.

Then those in front told him to keep quiet, but he kept crying out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

“ Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

I tell you, even though he won’t get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his friend’s shameless boldness, he will get up and give him as much as he needs.“ So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

When the man saw that he could not defeat him, he struck Jacob’s hip socket as they wrestled and dislocated his hip.Then he said to Jacob,“ Let me go, for it is daybreak.” But Jacob said,“ I will not let you go unless you bless me.”“ What is your name?” the man asked.“ Jacob,” he replied.“ Your name will no longer be Jacob,” he said.“ It will be Israel because you have struggled with God and with men and have prevailed.”Then Jacob asked him,“ Please tell me your name.” But he answered,“ Why do you ask my name?” And he blessed him there.

Jesus did not say a word to her. His disciples approached him and urged him,“ Send her away because she’s crying out after us.”
